What the 26cm Classic Induction pan offers
SCANPAN describes this model as an aluminium pan with a steel disc cast into its base, allowing it to work on induction cooktops. The maker says the range is suitable for all cookers and specifies Stratanium nonstick coating, a body made with at least 90% recycled aluminium, and a patented handle locking system. Do not confuse Classic Induction with SCANPAN’s regular Classic range: the manufacturer says that range is not induction compatible. The range name matters more than a similar appearance or a shared “Classic” label.
How much can you learn from the independent review?
CHOICE has a review page titled for the Scanpan Classic Induction Fry Pan 26cm 444972. Its publicly visible specifications list a measured base diameter of 19 cm and a weight of 1 kg. Those figures are CHOICE’s public specifications for the reviewed product, not the nominal pan diameter. CHOICE keeps its expert rating, performance and durability scores, ease-of-use score, test results, and recommendation behind member access, so the public page does not support a verdict on how this pan cooks or holds up.

The identifier “444972” appears in CHOICE’s review title. The SCANPAN product information consulted uses separate item numbers, so the available information does not confirm 444972 as the manufacturer’s SKU.
Temperature and care limits
SCANPAN states that the pan is ovenproof up to 250°C and advises against using it above that temperature. The company also warns that overheating may damage the nonstick coating and recommends heating gradually. For cleaning, SCANPAN advises detergent and says: “Avoid quick heating and cooling”. Let the pan cool before washing rather than putting it straight into cold water.

What to check before buying
- Confirm the listing explicitly says “Classic Induction” and “26 cm”; do not assume that every Classic pan works on induction.
- Check that the listed size is the 26 cm variant. The manufacturer page’s detailed dimensions, weight, and item number initially displayed for its 20 cm variant, so those details should not be treated as 26 cm specifications.
- Use the 19 cm base diameter and 1 kg weight only as CHOICE’s publicly listed measurements for the exact review title, not as maker-published 26 cm specifications.
- Decide whether the maker’s stated temperature limit and care guidance fit your cooking habits. Public information here does not establish independent performance or lifespan.
For someone with an induction cooktop who wants a nonstick pan and is comfortable following the maker’s temperature and care instructions, the stated features make this a plausible option to consider. If independent evidence of cooking performance or durability is essential, CHOICE’s publicly visible page does not provide enough information to make that judgment.
