A Geekbench result uploaded on October 2, 2026, lists a system identified as samsung XE940XSA and records Android 17. It may be Samsung’s first Googlebook, but the listing is not a product announcement: Samsung has not confirmed the laptop, its name, specifications, price or release date.

What appeared on Geekbench?

The Geekbench Browser entry is titled “samsung XE940XSA.” It records Android 17, a 12-core CPU identified in the result as QTI SCP_HAMOA, and 14.89 GB of reported memory. The CPU fields list four cores at 3.42GHz and eight at 4.01GHz. The entry was uploaded October 2, 2026, and shows a score of 2,513 single-core and 15,214 multi-core in Geekbench 7.1.0 for Android AArch64. View the Geekbench result.

Those are fields from one submitted benchmark result—not a complete specification sheet or an independently validated test of a retail laptop. Geekbench does not identify a final consumer-facing product name, storage capacity, price or launch date.

What might the listing reveal about the hardware?

SamMobile identifies Hamoa as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite and reports an Adreno X1-85 GPU and a possible 12-core configuration. Android Central likewise reports Snapdragon X Elite and 16GB of RAM, citing a tip attributed to Abhishek Yadav on X through Android Headlines. Those are secondary reports based on the benchmark sighting and rumor coverage, not specifications confirmed by Samsung. SamMobile’s report and Android Central’s report provide that interpretation.

The memory distinction matters: Geekbench reports 14.89 GB, while coverage rounds that to 16GB RAM. It is reasonable to describe the machine as reportedly having 16GB, but that is not the same as Samsung publishing a confirmed configuration. The Geekbench entry does not show storage. Android 17 is the operating system recorded for this submission; the software on any eventual shipping device is unconfirmed.

Android Central also mentions an earlier rumor about One UI, but the benchmark result does not demonstrate a One UI implementation. Any claim that Samsung will add a One UI layer remains speculation.

The published starting prices and configurations below are those shown on Google’s page when checked on October 3, 2026, and may change. They are comparisons with products Google lists—not evidence of the Samsung machine’s specifications. See Google’s lineup.

Google lists battery-life estimates of up to 13–19 hours across the lineup and notes that actual battery life varies. The page does not establish an estimate for the alleged Samsung model. Its listed models show that the category includes both Intel- and Snapdragon-based laptops, with different screen sizes and convertible or clamshell designs; they do not establish how Samsung’s device would compare.

What is Googlebook, and why would a Samsung laptop fit?

Googlebook is a laptop category intended to bring together Android, Chrome and Gemini, rather than simply a name for the leaked Samsung model. ITPro describes the category and its first cohort as including Acer, ASUS, Lenovo, Dell and HP. Google’s lineup page is the more direct source for the models currently listed. Read ITPro’s overview of Googlebook.

In an interview with Tom’s Guide, Sameer Samat, Google’s president of the Android Ecosystem, described the goal as giving Android users “a laptop for them that is as premium and as beautiful and performant as that high-end smartphone that they have.” The interview discusses phone-to-laptop setup and continuity features, including moving apps, autofill for passwords and payments, handoff, and Gemini features. That describes Google’s product aspirations and the interview’s account of the category; it does not confirm which features Samsung would implement. Read the Tom’s Guide interview.

When could Samsung’s Googlebook come out?

No release date or launch window is established by the Geekbench result or the cited reports. SamMobile says Samsung’s timing remains unknown. Until Samsung announces a product, the database entry should be treated as a possible sighting—not confirmation that a laptop is ready to ship or that its launch is imminent.
