Yes. You can locate a Samsung Galaxy tablet through Samsung Find or SmartThings Find, and you can also check Google Find Hub if a Google account is set up on it. Tracking works best when the tablet is on, connected, and its finding settings were enabled before it went missing. If it is powered off, Samsung says you may see only its last known location.
Which service should you use?
Start with the account already associated with the tablet. Samsung Find and SmartThings Find use its Samsung account; Google Find Hub uses its Google account. Either service may offer location and remote security actions, but it cannot help if the account or relevant settings were never configured.

| Service | Account to sign in with | What it can do |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Find or SmartThings Find | The Samsung account associated with the tablet | Locate the device and use available actions such as ring, lock, battery extension, or erase. Availability varies by model, software version, and region. Samsung Support US |
| Google Find Hub | The Google account associated with the tablet | Locate, ring, lock, or erase an eligible Android tablet. Samsung Support US |
If you are unsure which service was prepared, check both. Samsung says Find Hub is automatically enabled when a Google account is added during setup, but verify its location permission in Settings > Google > Find Hub > Allow device to be located.

- Open Samsung Find or SmartThings Find in a browser on another phone, tablet, or computer, or use the service on another Galaxy device. Sign in with the Samsung account used on the missing tablet. Samsung’s finding instructions
- Select the tablet from the device list to view its available location information and actions.
- If it does not appear, check Google Find Hub using the Google account on the tablet. Choose the tablet in the device list and use the available location or security options. Samsung’s Find Hub instructions
The services show information they can obtain from the tablet and their finding networks; a map pin is not proof that the device is currently at that exact spot.
#1 Best Overall
- Find your things with ease: The SmartThings Find app uses Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to locate and keep track of your stuff
- Water and Dust Resistant: IP67 rating offers protection against dust and water immersion between 15 cm and 1 meter for up to 30 minutes
- Compatible with Galaxy Devices Only
Can you track it if it is offline or switched off?
When it is powered off
Samsung says only the last known location may be available when the tablet is off. That location can be stale, so it should not be treated as the tablet’s live position. Samsung lists power, a stable network connection, a Samsung account, and enabled remote controls among the basic conditions for its usual finding functions. Samsung Support US
When it has no internet connection
Samsung’s separate Offline finding setting may help. Participating nearby Galaxy devices, called Find Nodes, can relay a lost Galaxy device’s location. Samsung cautions that Find Node devices do not indicate the lost device’s exact location, and support depends on the device and region. Treat offline finding as a possible aid, not a guarantee. Set up tracking before the tablet goes missing
- On the tablet, sign in to a Samsung account.
- Open Settings > Security and privacy > Lost device protection.
- Turn on Allow this tablet to be found, Send last location, and Offline finding.
- If the tablet has a Google account, open Settings > Google > Find Hub and check Allow device to be located.
Samsung says remote controls are enabled by default when a Samsung account is added, but it is worth checking the switches. Names and paths can differ by tablet model and software version. Samsung Support US Samsung Support US

- Track location: Samsung’s Track location function sends updates every 15 minutes. Samsung Support US
- Ring: Samsung says the tablet rings for one minute, even if it is muted or set to vibrate.
- Lock: The lock flow lets you set a PIN and optionally display a contact message.
- Extend battery life: Samsung lists this as an available action; whether it is offered can depend on the device and service.
- Erase data: Use only if protecting the data outweighs the chance of finding the tablet. Samsung advises backing up before a remote factory reset; once erased, finding may no longer be possible. If an erase command cannot be sent, change passwords for accounts signed in on the tablet. Samsung Support US
If you suspect the tablet was stolen
Do not go to a location shown on the map. Samsung advises contacting the authorities and letting them recover the device. Samsung Support US

Would a SmartTag track the tablet?
A Samsung SmartTag attached to the tablet’s bag or case may help locate that tagged item through Samsung’s finding ecosystem. It does not track the tablet’s internal location, and it does not replace Samsung Find or SmartThings Find. Samsung UK: SmartThings Find
