To check history on a Samsung tablet, start with the app or account you used: open Samsung Internet for its browsing history, Chrome for Chrome history, Google My Activity for eligible Google Account activity, or Recents for recently used apps. These are separate records; there is no single history list that combines them.
How do I check Samsung Internet browsing history?
- Open the Samsung Internet app.
- Find and open its History control among the browser’s navigation or bookmarks controls. Samsung describes this area as providing bookmarks, saved webpages, and recent browsing history. The exact control location can vary with the tablet model and app version, so inspect the browser’s bookmarks or navigation controls if it is not immediately visible. Samsung’s browsing-data instructions cover managing these records.
Pages visited in Secret Mode do not appear in Samsung Internet’s Browser History. Samsung’s official guide explains: “Similar to the Incognito Mode found in other browsers, searches and activity done while on Secret Mode, will not be recorded on Browser History.” Samsung’s guide to child browser-history and Secret Mode controls describes this behavior.

Delete Samsung Internet history
Deleting records is different from viewing them. Samsung US currently documents this route: Samsung Browser > More options (three vertical dots) > Settings > Personal browsing data > Delete browsing data. Select Browsing history and any other categories you want to remove, then choose Delete data and confirm. If you clear cookies or site data, you may need to sign in to websites again. Menu labels can differ by software version; Samsung’s Philippines support instructions, last updated January 17, 2023, describe a different route through Menu, Settings, Privacy, and Clear/Delete browsing data.
Where do I find Chrome history on a Samsung tablet?
Open the Chrome app and use Chrome’s own History control to see pages recorded by Chrome. Samsung Internet and Chrome keep separate histories, so a page visited in one browser will not automatically appear in the other’s history. Samsung’s browser guidance explains that each browser has its own history.

Do not confuse Chrome’s history view with its data-clearing screen. Samsung documents this deletion route as Chrome > three-dot menu > Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data. It includes a time-range selector and is for removing browsing data, not inspecting the history list. See Samsung’s Chrome browsing-data instructions.
How do I check Google search and account activity?
- On the tablet, open Settings > Google.
- Tap Manage your Google Account, then open Data & privacy.
- Under History settings, choose Web & App Activity. Review eligible activity in My Activity.
My Activity is a Google Account record, not a complete list of every page visited on the tablet. Google says Chrome browsing history is included in account activity only under specific conditions: Web & App Activity must be on, the option to include Chrome history and activity must be selected, and Chrome must be signed in and syncing history. Google activity may be associated with the browser or device’s default account when multiple accounts are signed in. Check the account shown before interpreting what you see. Google explains Web & App Activity and its settings.

How can I see recently used or most-used apps?
For apps opened recently, use the tablet’s Recents control. This is an app-switching view, not a list of websites or a timestamped record of every action inside each app.
To see which installed apps are used most often, Samsung documents this Play Store route: Play Store > profile icon > Manage apps & device > Manage. Choose the sorting control and select Most used or Least used. This gives a relative usage-frequency view of installed apps, rather than a chronological activity log. Samsung’s support page describes the Play Store app-management view.

Which history should I check?
| What you want to find | Where to look | What the record covers |
|---|---|---|
| Pages opened in Samsung Internet | Samsung Internet’s History control | Recent browsing recorded by Samsung Internet; Secret Mode activity is not recorded in Browser History. |
| Pages opened in Chrome | Chrome’s History control | History recorded by Chrome, separate from Samsung Internet. |
| Google searches and other eligible Google activity | Google Account > Data & privacy > Web & App Activity, then My Activity | Account activity governed by Google settings; Chrome history inclusion depends on the account, inclusion setting, sign-in, and sync. |
| Recently opened apps | Device Recents control | Apps used recently, not the sites viewed inside them. |
| Apps used more or less often | Play Store > profile > Manage apps & device > Manage; sort by Most used or Least used | Relative use frequency among installed apps, not a timestamped action log. |
If the history you expect is missing
- Check the browser you actually used. Samsung Internet does not display Chrome’s history, and Chrome does not display Samsung Internet’s.
- Check private browsing. Samsung says Secret Mode activity is not recorded in Samsung Internet Browser History.
- Check Google Account settings and sync. My Activity only shows eligible activity associated with the account and enabled settings; Chrome history requires the relevant inclusion option and Chrome history syncing while signed in.
- Check the account. If more than one Google Account is signed in, review the account currently selected in Google Account settings.
- Allow for interface differences. Samsung menu names and control placement can vary by model, browser release, and software version. Samsung’s regional support pages show different wording for browsing-data controls.
