To connect a Samsung soundbar subwoofer, plug in both units, turn on the soundbar and wait for automatic pairing. A solid blue LINK light on the subwoofer confirms it is connected. If the light keeps blinking, use the model-specific ID SET procedure below; the remote-button sequence varies by soundbar.
Connect the subwoofer automatically
- Connect the soundbar and subwoofer to power and plug them into a wall outlet.
- Turn on the soundbar and give the subwoofer time to connect.
- Check the subwoofer’s LINK indicator. A blue light that stops blinking and glows continuously means the connection is established, according to Samsung US support. A blinking light means the confirmed connection has not yet been reached.
Pair the subwoofer manually with ID SET
Use manual pairing if automatic connection does not complete. Keep both units plugged in, and make sure the soundbar is off before starting. The exact ID SET controls vary by model.

- Press and hold the subwoofer’s ID SET button. If it is recessed, use a small pointed object. Release it when STANDBY turns off and the blue LINK light begins blinking quickly.
- With the soundbar off, invoke ID SET using the control specified for your model. Some soundbars have an ID SET button on the bar. Otherwise, Samsung US describes holding Mute on the remote; on some models, Up is used instead if Mute does not work.
- When ID SET appears, turn on the soundbar while the subwoofer’s blue LINK light is blinking.
- Wait for the LINK light to become solid blue. If it keeps blinking, turn off the soundbar and repeat the procedure from the ID SET step.
Do not assume one remote sequence works on every Samsung soundbar. If these controls do not match your device, follow the manual for the exact model. Samsung’s Australia support instructions also show model-dependent procedures.

If the LINK light keeps blinking
- Check that the soundbar’s power connection is secure, then allow time for the connection to recover. Samsung Australia advises waiting about five minutes; if blinking persists, try manual pairing.
- For a reset attempt described by Samsung US, leave the soundbar plugged in and active, unplug only the subwoofer, wait five seconds, then reconnect the subwoofer.
- If the remote sequence does not work or the soundbar has different controls, look up the user manual using the exact soundbar model rather than repeating an assumed button combination.
If the subwoofer connects but there is no sound
Check that neither the soundbar nor the connected source is muted or set too low. If the soundbar is connected to a TV, confirm that the TV’s audio output is set to the soundbar, and reseat the relevant cable connection.

When to contact Samsung support
Samsung Australia identifies LINK and STANDBY indicators blinking red and blue together as a malfunction and advises contacting a Samsung service centre. For other persistent pairing failures, consult the manual for your precise model or contact Samsung support. A replacement subwoofer or remote must be verified for compatibility with the exact soundbar model and regional variant; do not assume Samsung devices pair universally.
