To pair a Samsung soundbar with its included wireless subwoofer, connect both to power and turn on the soundbar; they should link automatically. If the subwoofer’s blue LINK light keeps blinking, use the model’s ID SET procedure. A steady blue LINK light confirms the connection.
Try automatic pairing first

Connect the soundbar and subwoofer to power, then turn on the soundbar.

Wait for the subwoofer’s blue LINK indicator to stop blinking and glow steadily. Samsung describes a steady blue light as the connected state; a continuously blinking light means the connection has not completed. See Samsung’s connection instructions.

If the subwoofer does not connect, Samsung Canada suggests unplugging only the subwoofer while leaving the soundbar powered, waiting five seconds, and reconnecting it. If it still will not link, try manual pairing. Samsung notes that its regional instructions apply to products sold in Canada, so controls and settings may differ elsewhere: Samsung support.

Pair manually with ID SET
Use the soundbar’s exact model manual if its buttons or indicator behavior do not match these steps. Samsung says the remote command varies by model; some soundbars have an ID SET control on the unit instead. The model-specific instructions are available through Samsung’s model support pages.

Connect both units to power and leave the soundbar turned off.

At the back of the subwoofer, press and hold the recessed ID SET button with a small pointed object. Release it when the STANDBY light turns off and the blue LINK indicator begins blinking rapidly.

With the soundbar still off, press and hold Mute on its remote until ID SET appears on the soundbar display. If Mute does not work, Samsung says to try Up on some models. If your soundbar has its own ID SET button, follow its manual instead.

Turn on the soundbar while the subwoofer’s blue LINK indicator is blinking.

Check that the LINK light becomes steady blue. If it continues blinking, turn off the soundbar and repeat the procedure.

If the subwoofer still will not connect
The blue LINK light keeps blinking
Make sure the soundbar is powered on, then repeat ID SET. A blinking blue light is not a successful connection. If the indicator does not behave as described, consult the manual for your model: Samsung’s instructions note that LED behavior can vary by model and region. Its regional guidance also identifies obstacles and nearby devices using the same frequency as possible sources of connection problems; check the model manual before changing placement or assuming a particular distance limit. Pairing stopped after service or a reset
A soundbar factory reset, service, or replacement can mean the subwoofer needs to be connected again. Start with automatic pairing, then use ID SET if the blue LINK light does not become steady.
The LINK light is steady, but there is no sound

Raise the soundbar’s volume and make sure it is not muted; check the source device’s volume as well.

On the TV, select the soundbar as the audio output.

Reseat the cable connecting the soundbar to the TV or source.

Power-cycle the equipment, then check playback again.

Do not assume that a separately purchased or used Samsung subwoofer will work with your soundbar. Samsung Canada says the subwoofer supplied with a soundbar is configured to connect with that included soundbar. Before buying or attempting to pair a replacement, check both exact model numbers and their manuals; the title or brand alone does not establish compatibility. Samsung’s support pages provide model-specific manuals and support.
Subwoofer linking is not Bluetooth pairing
ID SET connects the wireless subwoofer to its soundbar; it is different from pairing the soundbar with an audio source over Bluetooth. Samsung says Bluetooth pairing is for devices that play audio, such as a TV or phone, and that a soundbar will not Bluetooth-pair with another speaker, headphones, or another soundbar.
