What Samsung Smart Hub does
Samsung describes Smart Hub as the intelligent menu system for Samsung Smart TVs, providing access to TV functions and options such as apps and games. Samsung UK also lists internet browsing among its features. Samsung says Smart Hub was first introduced on its TVs in 2011. What appears in the menu depends on the TV model, software, and region. Set up internet and Samsung Account access
Connect the TV to the internet over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, then follow the on-screen prompts to sign in to a Samsung Account and accept the Smart Hub terms. The exact setup screens and menu labels can vary by model and software. Samsung’s general setup instructions are available in its Smart Hub setup guide.
If account setup was skipped
In the flow described by Samsung Canada, open Smart Hub Home and select Set Up Now. Sign in using the displayed QR code and a mobile device, or use the remote; complete any verification requested and accept the Smart Hub Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice. Account requirement on 2023-and-newer devices
Samsung Canada says a Samsung Account is required to use Smart Hub apps and services on Samsung Smart TVs and Smart Monitors starting with 2023 models. Its guidance says that without account setup, viewers can still use over-the-air content and external inputs such as HDMI devices, but Smart Hub apps and services are unavailable. This is Canada-specific guidance; check Samsung support for your region and exact model before applying it elsewhere.
Find and install an app
- Press the Home button and open Apps.
- Browse the available apps or use Search to look for one.
- Select the app, then choose Install.
- When installation finishes, choose Open to launch it.
This sequence comes from Samsung India’s instructions; labels and availability can differ by model, region, or software. Manage apps already on the TV
Depending on the TV, the Apps screen or app options may let you add an app to Home, move it, lock it with a PIN, view its details, reinstall it, or delete it. Consult the options displayed on your model rather than relying on a single menu path.

- Low internal storage: Samsung says some apps can be installed to USB storage when internal memory is insufficient. An app installed on USB cannot be used on a PC or another TV.
Troubleshoot a missing, frozen, or failing app

- Cold boot the TV. This fully reboots the TV rather than simply leaving it in standby. Use the cold-boot method in Samsung’s instructions for your model.
- Update the TV software. Check the TV’s software update settings and install an available update.
- Delete and reinstall the app. If the app remains available in the store, remove it and download it again.
- Reset Smart Hub. Use this only after the earlier steps, because the reset signs you out of your Samsung Account and all apps. Make sure you know the login details before proceeding.
Smart Hub reset menu paths
Samsung lists different paths according to TV year:
- 2018 and earlier: Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis.
- 2019 and later: Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis.
Choose the Smart Hub reset option in Self Diagnosis. The TV may request its PIN; Samsung says the default is 0000 unless it has been changed. Menu names can vary. See Samsung US app troubleshooting instructions.

Why an app may not appear
An app missing from the TV’s store is not necessarily a store error. Samsung Canada notes that an app’s requirements can exceed a TV’s memory or processing capacity, preventing it from appearing. Check the app store on the specific TV, install current TV software, and consult the model’s support information and the app provider’s compatibility details.
