On a Samsung phone, the right setting depends on what you want to change: Bixby’s spoken responses, voices used to read text aloud, or TalkBack’s screen-reader speech. Bixby and text-to-speech (TTS) are separate controls, so changing one does not automatically change the other.
First, identify which voice you mean

Change Bixby’s voice or language
- Open Settings.
- Tap Advanced features, then Bixby.
- Tap Language and voice style.
- Select Language to change Bixby’s language, or choose one of the listed voice options to change its speaking style.
The available choices depend on the Bixby version and device; you can select only options shown in the settings. If the path differs, search Settings for “Bixby.” Samsung notes that menu screens and options can vary by device, software version, region, and language. - Open Settings.
- Tap General management, then Text-to-speech.
- Choose the preferred engine available on your phone, such as Samsung or Google.
- Tap the gear icon beside the selected engine to open its voice settings, then choose from the available languages and voices.
- Use the sample playback control, if shown, to listen before settling on a voice. Adjust speech rate or pitch if those controls are available.
The engine affects which voices and languages are offered. If a language is missing, check the phone’s language settings and install the corresponding voice data if the engine provides that option; only installed language data can be used. Adjust TalkBack speech
If the voice you want to change is the spoken feedback used for screen navigation, look in TalkBack’s own settings rather than Bixby’s voice-style controls. TalkBack uses the built-in text-to-speech system, so its speech engine and voice options are managed through TTS settings as applicable. Samsung’s accessibility and text-to-speech guide explains the relationship between these features.
If a setting or voice is missing
- Menu names differ: Search Settings for “Bixby” or “Text-to-speech.” Samsung says available settings vary with model, software version, region, and language. Its New Zealand Bixby guide also notes that choices can vary by version and language.
- A TTS language is unavailable: Check the phone’s language settings and whether voice data for that language can be installed for the chosen engine. Availability depends on the installed data and engine.
- You want a different-sounding TTS voice: Check the engine’s gear-icon settings, try its sample playback, and adjust rate or pitch if offered. Switching engines may change the available voices.
- You mean a live-call voice effect: The Samsung support instructions cited here do not establish a built-in feature for changing your voice during calls. Do not assume the Bixby or TTS controls affect calls.
Samsung’s alternate India route for Bixby Vision text-to-speech is Settings > Apps > Samsung app settings > Bixby Vision > Text-to-speech settings. That page, last updated February 5, 2026, lists engine, language, rate, pitch, sample playback, and reset controls. Treat it as a regional or software-specific route, not a universal menu path: Samsung India’s text-to-speech instructions.
