On a Samsung Galaxy Book, install Samsung Notes from the Microsoft Store, then sign in and enable Samsung Cloud sync on both the PC and your Galaxy phone or tablet. Samsung says the app is optimized for Galaxy Book models and may not be compatible with other Windows PCs, so a non-Samsung laptop is not guaranteed to work.
Install Samsung Notes from the Microsoft Store
- On your PC, open Start > All apps > Microsoft Store.
- Search for Samsung Notes, select the app, and choose Get.
- After installation, select Open. Sign in to your Samsung account if prompted; Samsung’s setup instructions also allow you to skip sign-in during initial setup.
These are Samsung’s documented PC installation steps. Samsung describes Samsung Notes for PC as optimized for Galaxy Book models and warns it may not be compatible with other Windows computers. Its support material does not provide a universal Windows-version or third-party-PC compatibility matrix, so installation on a non-Samsung PC is not assured. Samsung’s Samsung Notes PC instructions.

Sync notes from your Galaxy phone or tablet
To bring notes into the PC app, use the same Samsung account on your devices and enable Samsung Cloud sync in Samsung Notes on each one.
- On the PC, open Samsung Notes and go to Settings > Sync with Samsung Cloud. Sign in if needed, then make sure the switch above Sync now is on.
- On your Galaxy phone or tablet, open Samsung Notes and choose Menu > Settings.
- Turn on Sync with Samsung Cloud. Samsung says using the same account makes notes available across devices. Samsung’s setup instructions.
Choose the right route for your device and goal

OneNote availability depends on your software version
Samsung’s current US troubleshooting page states, “Sync with OneNote is not available on devices with One UI 9 software,” and directs users to Samsung Cloud. Samsung Support’s OneNote-sync troubleshooting page.

A separate Samsung US support article still describes selecting Samsung Notes folders for a OneNote feed viewed in Outlook after signing into a Microsoft account. Samsung says notes in that feed cannot be edited or removed there. Because that older guidance conflicts with the One UI 9 notice, check your Galaxy device’s One UI version and whether the OneNote setting is present before relying on the feed. Samsung Notes can export a note as a PDF, Word, PowerPoint, image, or text file. This gives you a copy of its content, rather than access to a synchronized Samsung Notes library. Samsung says a PDF can be annotated in Samsung Notes, but its existing text cannot be edited there. Samsung’s note-export instructions.
