Samsung Internet stands out from Chrome in specific areas: its customizable mobile interface, Android video controls, and support for compatible third-party ad blockers on Android. But it is not a universal Chrome replacement, and the claim that Google “refuses” to add a feature goes beyond what the available evidence establishes. The right choice depends on your device and which features you actually use.

Samsung’s Video assistant can provide full-screen or pop-up playback and touch gestures for volume and brightness, depending on the webpage. Samsung describes this feature as Android-only; it is a concrete reason to try Samsung Internet if you often watch video in a mobile browser. Samsung lists add-ons and Quick access among its browser features. These give users additional ways to shape their browsing setup, though availability and compatibility can vary. Samsung’s feature descriptions do not establish a complete, like-for-like extension comparison with Chrome, so it is safer to treat them as Samsung Internet capabilities rather than proof that one browser offers more overall.

Does Samsung Internet block ads?
On Android, Samsung Internet includes Smart Anti-Tracking, but Samsung says ad blocking requires a compatible third-party app. Tracker prevention and ad blocking are related but distinct: blocking trackers does not mean every ad will disappear. Chrome for Android is not accurate to describe as having no ad blocking. Google says Chrome removes ads on websites with ad experiences that violate the Better Ads Standards and provides an Intrusive ads setting. So, if your question is which Android browser offers a route to broader ad blocking, Samsung Internet has the clearer documented option: pair it with a compatible third-party blocker. The available sources do not establish that Google refuses to add broader ad blocking, nor do they provide independent measurements of either browser’s blocking effectiveness.
Can Samsung Internet sync with a PC?
Yes. Samsung’s Windows announcement describes bookmark and history syncing and continuing a page between devices, using a Samsung Account and relevant Samsung software. Continuing a page on PC has had specific hardware conditions: Samsung’s launch announcement initially listed Galaxy Book 3, 4, 5, and 6 series, with expansion planned. Samsung’s current US product page lists Windows 10 or later and Android smartphones and tablets, but availability of particular services can depend on region, operating-system or One UI version, device, carrier, and language. Which browser should you choose?
- Try Samsung Internet if you want more documented control over the mobile browser layout, use its Android video assistant, or want to use a compatible third-party ad blocker.
- Chrome may suit you if its current setup already meets your needs. The sources here do not support a broad claim that Samsung is faster, safer, better for battery life, or superior for syncing.
- Check your devices first if you want Samsung Internet on Windows or depend on mobile-to-PC continuation. Availability and some functions have region, software, account, or hardware conditions.
What the evidence does not show

They also do not provide comparable speed tests, security-efficacy measurements, or user-satisfaction data.
