Samsung’s “Good Lock update” is not one universal release. The Good Lock catalog and each module update separately, with improvements arriving according to One UI version, Galaxy model and region. Recent updates include Home Up customization for One UI 7 and 8.5, maintenance fixes in Good Lock 3.0.16.2, a RegiStar Back Tap fix and Galaxy S26 pilot features in Game Booster+.
What the Good Lock update actually means
Good Lock is a Samsung app that manages independent modules for parts of the Galaxy interface, including Quick Settings, the keyboard, navigation, notifications and the lock screen. Samsung describes the system and its supported-device variation on its Good Lock support page.
Consequently, updating the main Good Lock app does not necessarily update Home Up, LockStar, Game Booster+, RegiStar or any other installed plug-in. A headline about Good Lock may refer to the catalog app, a particular module, a One UI compatibility wave or a model-specific release.

Home Up brings the biggest visible changes
DIY Home Screen and One UI 7
Samsung’s One UI 7 coverage presents Home Up as a redesigned home-screen system rather than a collection of cosmetic themes. Its DIY Home Screen lets users place and organize apps more freely than the standard grid, creating layouts that better fit unusual folder structures, widgets or personal workflows. Samsung explains the redesign in its One UI 7 Home Up overview.

Widget sizing and icon-background blur
Android Central reported that a One UI 8.5-oriented Home Up update adds controls for widget size and for blurring the background behind app icons. These are practical adjustments: widgets can occupy space more precisely, while icon backgrounds can be made less visually prominent. The changes are described in Android Central’s One UI 8.5 report.
Home Up controls depend on the Samsung launcher, the installed Home Up build and the phone’s One UI version. Installing the module does not guarantee that every control will appear on every Galaxy model.

Game Booster+ adds S26 pilot controls
SamMobile reports Game Booster+ version 2.0.00.23 with three additions: Gamepad Touch Mapping, AP clock limitation and Game Intro Fast-Forward. The same changelog labels them “S26 Pilot Feature Release” features. They should therefore be treated as Galaxy S26 pilot functionality, not as standard features for Galaxy S25, S24, A-series or foldable phones. Details are in SamMobile’s report.
- Gamepad Touch Mapping: maps physical gamepad input to on-screen touch controls where supported.
- AP clock limitation: limits the application-processor clock behavior during supported gaming scenarios.
- Game Intro Fast-Forward: skips or accelerates supported introductory sequences.

Good Lock 3.0.16.2
A June 2026 Samsung Community post identifies Good Lock version 3.0.16.2 and attributes bug fixes, stability improvements and a fix for plug-ins that could not update in certain environments. Because the Galaxy Store page does not expose a consistently readable changelog, treat that version information as community-reported and verify the listing before relying on it: Samsung Community report and official Good Lock listing.

RegiStar Back Tap
Android Central reported a RegiStar update aimed at Back Tap unreliability. If Back Tap has become intermittent, update RegiStar before treating the issue as a hardware or system fault: Android Central’s report.
LockStar and adaptive-clock behavior
A reported LockStar 8.5.00.10 release is associated with the One UI 8.5 update cycle. Lock-screen behavior, including adaptive-clock functions, can require both the matching One UI build and a current LockStar version. Version availability is not universal; see the Samsung Community report and Android Central’s adaptive-clock coverage.

Other modules
QuickStar, MultiStar, NavStar, Sound Assistant and Wonderland continue to be separate modules. Samsung highlights Sound Assistant, while Wonderland supports animated lock- and home-screen wallpapers with images, text, video, particles and motion effects. Their presence and controls vary by device and software build; Samsung’s feature articles describe these capabilities at this Good Lock feature guide and this developer-recommendations guide.

Why a feature may be missing
- One UI requirement: the module may need One UI 7, 8 or 8.5, or a particular build.
- Model limitation: some functions require flagship hardware or a specific phone family.
- Pilot or beta status: Game Booster+’s S26 controls are explicitly pilot features.
- Regional catalog: Galaxy Store module availability differs by country.
- Staggered release: Samsung may publish a One UI update before the matching Good Lock module.
- Launcher dependency: Home Up features can depend on the Samsung launcher version.
- Account or store state: an outdated Galaxy Store app, wrong Samsung account or a disabled module can hide updates.
A module can install successfully yet expose fewer controls on an older or unsupported phone. Beta software can also cause temporary incompatibility.
Troubleshooting update failures
The module will not update
- Update Good Lock itself.
- Open the module’s separate Galaxy Store listing and check there.
- Update the Galaxy Store.
- Verify a stable internet connection, then restart the phone.
- Clear Galaxy Store cache if the download remains stuck.
- Uninstall and reinstall only the affected module as a last resort; local settings may be erased.
The module disappeared after One UI
Install all available Good Lock and module updates, restart the phone, then check both Good Lock categories again. The module may not yet support the new One UI build, may be unavailable for the model or region, or may have been disabled during the upgrade. Avoid sideloading random APKs as a first response.
Settings were reset
Reapply the module’s settings or restore a saved Home Up layout if available. Screenshot complex configurations before major One UI upgrades. A community report documents settings and features changing after an update, but that outcome is anecdotal rather than guaranteed: reported example.
Should you install immediately?
Updating is sensible when a module crashes, disappears after One UI, loses controls, produces unreliable Back Tap behavior or lacks a One UI 8/8.5 feature you want. A cautious user may wait when the phone is mission-critical, the device runs beta software or a carefully configured launcher and lock screen are working reliably. Before a major Home Up transition, document important layouts so they can be recreated if necessary.

Good Lock is improving through a staggered series of app and module releases, not one identical update for every Galaxy phone. Update the main app and each module separately, then judge missing features against your One UI version, model and region. Home Up offers the broadest customization gains, while Game Booster+’s newest controls remain Galaxy S26 pilot features.
