The Galaxy Z Fold8 and Google Pixel 11 Pro are not like-for-like rivals: Samsung’s is a foldable phone, while Google’s Pixel 11 Pro is a conventional phone. In the United States, the cited starting prices are $1,899 for the Fold8 and $1,099 for the Pixel 11 Pro—a nominal $800 difference. If you want a foldable-versus-foldable comparison, Google’s separate Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the more appropriate model.
First, make sure you have the right Pixel model
Google sells the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro Fold as distinct models. The Pixel 11 Pro has a conventional phone design; the Pro Fold opens to reveal a larger internal screen. The Galaxy Z Fold8 is also a foldable. Comparing the Fold8 with the regular Pixel 11 Pro is useful if you are choosing between a foldable and a traditional phone, but it is not a direct comparison of two devices with the same form factor.

For a foldable comparison, use the Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Google lists it separately and specifies an 8-inch internal folding display. Its US announced starting price is $1,899, matching the cited Fold8 starting price, though that does not establish identical configurations or current prices.

Display and form factor
Galaxy Z Fold8
Samsung Australia specifies a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch inner display, with the inner screen using a 4:3 aspect ratio. The cover screen offers a conventional phone-sized way to use the device while closed; unfolding provides more display area for tasks that benefit from a larger canvas. These are manufacturer specifications from Samsung Australia, so regional SKU details may differ.
Pixel 11 Pro
The regular Pixel 11 Pro is not the foldable model. The supplied Google specifications identify it as a standard Pixel phone, so it does not offer the Fold8’s unfolding inner display.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold
Google’s official specification reference lists a 6.5-inch external display and an 8-inch internal folding display. Those figures make it the more relevant Pixel if your priority is a foldable screen; they do not, by themselves, establish that its display is better than Samsung’s.

- Galaxy Z Fold8: Samsung Australia lists a 4,800mAh battery and 45W charging. These are manufacturer specifications, not evidence of a particular real-world battery life or charging time.
- Pixel 11 Pro: Google says the Pixel 11 series starts at 256GB of storage and supports seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. Google also lists Qi 2.2 wireless charging up to 25W for the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro.
The cited specifications do not provide a directly comparable battery-life test for the Fold8 and Pixel 11 Pro. Battery capacity, charging wattage, and wireless charging support alone cannot determine which phone lasts longer in everyday use.

Performance and cameras: what the claims establish
Google says the Pixel 11 series uses Tensor G6 and describes it as its fastest, most powerful chip. Its announcement also says the phones have major camera upgrades and enhanced durability. These are Google’s claims, not independent comparative test results. The available information does not establish that the Pixel 11 Pro takes better photos, performs faster, or lasts longer than the Galaxy Z Fold8 in a direct test.
Samsung’s cited specifications likewise do not provide an independent side-by-side camera or performance comparison. If those outcomes matter most, look for comparable testing of the exact models and configurations rather than treating manufacturer descriptions as a head-to-head result.
