To remove a face from your Samsung Galaxy Watch, open the face selector on the watch and tap the minus icon beside it, or remove it through the connected phone in Galaxy Wearable. This removes the face from the watch’s active face list; Samsung says it is not permanently deleted and can be installed again.
Remove a face directly on the watch
- Touch and hold the current watch face until the face-selection screen opens.
- Swipe left or right to find the face you want to remove.
- Tap the minus icon on that face.
The confirmation control depends on the watch generation and software. Samsung’s instructions for older Tizen models say to tap Remove, then the check mark to confirm. Its Wear OS instructions say to touch and hold the face and tap Remove. Follow the labels displayed on your watch, since screens can differ by model and software version. Remove a face in Galaxy Wearable
- Make sure the watch is connected to your phone through Galaxy Wearable.
- Open Galaxy Wearable and tap Watch faces.
- Tap the Manage sliders icon at the top right.
- Tap the minus icon beside the face you want to remove.
The phone route can be easier when you would rather browse the installed faces on a larger screen. Menu availability and labels can vary by phone, carrier, watch model, software version, and region. Samsung notes that Galaxy Watch models using Wear OS, including Galaxy Watch4 and later, require a compatible Android mobile device and Galaxy Wearable for setup and management; the Canada guide applies to devices sold there and cautions that screens may differ elsewhere. What removing a watch face does
Removing a face takes it out of the active face list. It is not a factory reset or permanent deletion: Samsung says the face can be downloaded or installed again. Samsung Canada’s guide states that removing a watch face does not permanently delete it.

If a downloaded face may be causing a watch problem
Samsung’s US troubleshooting guidance discusses downloaded faces in a specific context: a watch that may have an issue after its startup screen fades. It recommends changing or uninstalling the downloaded face and restarting the watch after uninstalling it. A face is only one possible factor; Samsung also notes that restarting can resolve a range of issues. Do not assume a downloaded face is the cause of unrelated watch trouble.
