The June 2024 “Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra” leak was genuine and unusually close on the major hardware. Samsung ultimately released the product as Galaxy Watch Ultra, not Galaxy Watch7 Ultra. The 47mm titanium case, 590mAh battery, 3nm five-core processor, 32GB launch storage, dual-frequency GPS, 3,000-nit display and 10ATM durability all broadly matched the final 2024 watch. Naming, colors, connectivity wording and later storage figures need more careful qualification.
SamMobile reported the leak on June 6, 2024, citing an Android Headlines exclusive: the original report.
What the 2024 leak claimed
The report described two products that Samsung was expected to introduce alongside one another: the conventional Galaxy Watch7 and a larger, tougher Ultra model. These were reported specifications, not Samsung confirmations at the time.

How accurate was it?
Samsung’s eventual product documentation confirms most of the Ultra’s central hardware story. The table below separates claims that held up from details that changed, remained unclear or belong to a later generation.
| Leaked claim | What happened |
|---|---|
| 47mm Ultra | Confirmed. Samsung lists the Galaxy Watch Ultra as a 47mm watch. |
| Titanium case | Confirmed. Samsung specifies Grade 4 titanium. |
| 590mAh battery | Confirmed for the original Ultra. |
| 3nm processor | Confirmed. Samsung lists a 3nm processor; Samsung catalog material identifies it as the five-core Exynos W1000. |
| Five CPU cores | Confirmed in Samsung catalog documentation identifying Exynos W1000. |
| 32GB storage | Correct for the 2024 generation. A current Samsung page showing 64GB refers to a later Ultra refresh, not proof that the original launched with 64GB. |
| 3,000-nit display | Confirmed. Samsung lists brightness up to 3,000 nits. |
| L1+L5 GPS | Confirmed. Samsung lists dual-frequency GPS. |
| 10ATM resistance | Confirmed. The Ultra is listed with 10ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H. |
| “Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra” name | Not confirmed. Samsung’s retail name is Galaxy Watch Ultra. |
| Bluetooth-only Ultra | Not established. The leak’s final wording pointed to Bluetooth-plus-LTE, and U.S. MSRP material identifies the original Ultra as LTE. |
| 2025 health additions and 64GB storage | Not part of the 2024 leak. Those details belong to the later refresh. |
Samsung’s official specifications are on the Galaxy Watch Ultra product page. Samsung catalog material identifies the processor and battery at this PDF.
Samsung changed the name
“Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra” was a reasonable leak-era shorthand because the watch appeared in reports beside Galaxy Watch7. Samsung did not use that branding at retail. The released product is called Galaxy Watch Ultra, a separate line rather than a Watch7 size or trim.

Galaxy Watch Ultra versus Galaxy Watch7
| Area | Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024) | Galaxy Watch7 |
|---|---|---|
| Size and case | 47mm Grade 4 titanium | 40mm or 44mm Armor Aluminum |
| Battery | 590mAh | The leak reported 300mAh (40mm) and 425mAh (44mm). Samsung’s current comparison lists 325mAh and 445mAh for corresponding configurations. |
| Display brightness | Up to 3,000 nits | The launch leak reported up to 2,000 nits; Samsung’s current comparison can show up to 3,000 nits, so the 2,000-nit figure is best treated as a launch-era report. |
| Water and environmental ratings | 10ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H | 5ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H |
| GPS | L1+L5 dual-frequency | L1+L5 dual-frequency was included in the leak |
| Cellular options | LTE model in U.S. launch documentation | Bluetooth and LTE versions |
| Original U.S. MSRP | $649.99 LTE | $299.99–$379.99, depending on size and Bluetooth/LTE configuration |
Samsung’s December 2024 U.S. MSRP file lists those launch-era prices: MSRP PDF. MSRP is not the same as a current sale price.
What the Ultra adds
- A substantially larger battery and 47mm case.
- Titanium construction and a dedicated Quick Button alongside the other physical controls.
- Higher stated water resistance, brighter peak display output and outdoor-oriented positioning.
- LTE built into the U.S. launch configuration rather than a Bluetooth-only Ultra choice.
What the Watch7 does better for some users
- 40mm and 44mm options fit more wrists and are generally less imposing for sleep tracking.
- The conventional case is lighter and less rugged-looking.
- Bluetooth-only purchasing is available.
- The original MSRP was roughly half the Ultra’s at the entry level.
Details that remained ambiguous
Battery capacities
The leak’s 300mAh and 425mAh Watch7 figures do not match the 325mAh and 445mAh values on Samsung’s current comparison material. Treat these as source- and generation-specific figures, not evidence that one publication necessarily fabricated its numbers.

Colors
Reports used different names for the same rumored finishes, while later products introduced their own naming. “Beige,” “silver,” “gray,” “white” and “Titanium Gray” should not be treated as interchangeable without identifying the model and year.
Connectivity
One report described the Ultra as LTE-only, while other leak summaries used Bluetooth-plus-LTE language. Samsung’s U.S. MSRP documentation identifies the original Ultra as LTE; market configurations outside the United States may differ. Cellular service can also require a compatible carrier plan and recurring fee.
Peak brightness and battery life
A 3,000-nit figure is a peak specification, not a brightness level maintained continuously. Samsung’s current Ultra material quotes up to 60 hours with always-on display enabled and up to 100 hours in Power Saving Mode. Those are “up to” estimates: GPS, LTE, workouts, sleep tracking and display settings can reduce runtime.

Who should consider the Ultra?
- Outdoor users: Dual-frequency GPS, a larger battery and the higher durability rating are the meaningful upgrades for long activities.
- LTE buyers: The Ultra’s launch configuration suits people who want cellular capability without choosing a Bluetooth-only model.
- Titanium and large-display fans: The 47mm case and titanium construction are central reasons to buy it.
- Compact-watch buyers: Choose Watch7 if a 40mm case, lower weight or a lower price matters more than ruggedness.
10ATM is a water-resistance rating, not unrestricted professional-diving certification. Follow Samsung’s activity restrictions. Health functions such as ECG or sleep-apnea detection can depend on a compatible Galaxy phone, software, regulatory approval and region; they are not universally available medical diagnostics.
Verdict
The leak was directionally and technically strong: it forecast the Ultra’s size, materials, processor class, storage generation, GPS, battery, brightness and durability with impressive accuracy. It was not a perfect final specification sheet. The official name changed to Galaxy Watch Ultra, colors and connectivity wording varied, Watch7 battery figures differed by source, and today’s 64GB Ultra pages describe a later refresh. For buyers, the real distinction is the Ultra’s large titanium LTE design and outdoor hardware versus the smaller, cheaper Galaxy Watch7.
