Samsung described the event as a showcase for Galaxy devices combining intelligent capabilities with new form factors and more personal, adaptive experiences. Its language about setting a “new standard” in the AI era is Samsung’s positioning, rather than an independently demonstrated result.

What was announced at Samsung Unpacked?
Foldable phones
Samsung’s July 23 recap names three phones:
| Model | Samsung’s stated emphasis | Details established in Samsung’s announcement |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra | Productivity, a larger workspace and content creation | Samsung describes an 8-inch main display, a 200 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera. Screen dimensions and battery figures are subject to Samsung’s measurement and testing notes. |
| Galaxy Z Fold8 | Immersive viewing and discovery | The release supports this positioning but does not provide a complete specification set in the event overview. |
| Galaxy Z Flip8 | Compact interaction, quick access and self-expression | The release supports this positioning but does not provide a complete specification set in the event overview. |

Wearables and intelligent eyewear
The recap also lists Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9. It mentions intelligent eyewear as part of the Galaxy ecosystem, but does not supply a retail model name for that eyewear. No additional eyewear specifications are established by the event overview.
How do the Fold8 models differ?
The clearest distinction is the form factor and the experience Samsung is targeting:
Rank #3
- TYPE IT IN. TRANSFORM IT FAST: Enhance any shot in seconds on your smartphone by using Photo Assist¹ with Galaxy AI.² Add objects, restore details, or apply new styles by simply typing or tapping

- Flip8: the compact, fold-in-half option aimed at quick interactions and personal style.
For a purchase decision, compare the physical form first, then the available screen/workspace, camera and creation tools, battery and charging behavior, and finally the price and stock in your own market. The cited announcements do not establish current retailer pricing, inventory or universal regional availability.
Pre-orders, colors and software offers
Samsung’s July 22 Galaxy Z series release said pre-orders opened that day in select markets. It also referred to color options and a six-month Google AI Pro trial. Market eligibility, color availability and the terms of that trial can differ, so the announcement is not a guarantee of a current offer in every country.

What did Samsung say about AI?
Samsung presented the phones and wearables as an AI-powered Galaxy ecosystem. TM Roh, Samsung’s chief executive, president and head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division, said: “As AI becomes more agentic, mobile devices will become the most personal entry point to experiences that understand and adapt to each user.” That is an executive perspective and forward-looking product positioning, not independent evidence that every advertised experience will perform as predicted.
