Create a mode for the trip, choose only the actions your phone offers and you want, then turn it on when you leave and off when you return. Samsung says availability and menus vary by device and software version, so check the options on your own phone.
Set up a travel mode in Modes and Routines

Choose Modes to add or edit a mode. If you want to combine a trigger with actions instead, choose Routines. Labels and available options can differ by model and software version.

Create a mode and give it a clear name, such as Travel. Review the actions offered on your phone and select only those that fit your trip. Samsung’s general guidance does not establish one action list that is available on every Galaxy device.

Save the setup. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold6 guide describes manually turning a mode on from the Modes controls and turning it off there when it is no longer needed. The exact controls may vary. Samsung’s Modes and Routines guide for Galaxy Z Fold6
Choose how to activate it—and how to end it
For a temporary trip, manual activation is the straightforward choice: turn on the mode when you want the travel setup and turn it off when you no longer need it. Samsung also documents modes that activate when configured conditions are detected. Use a condition only if the one you want appears on your phone.

Do not assume the mode will expire at a chosen time. Samsung’s cited guidance establishes manual and condition-based activation, but does not establish that every current Galaxy mode offers a user-set automatic end time. If your phone does not show an appropriate condition or expiry option, plan to turn the mode off manually.

Travel-related conditions may vary by region
Samsung’s Hong Kong guidance describes a travelling abroad condition for custom routines when Customised services is enabled. This is a regional and version-dependent possibility, not a universal option. Samsung notes that models, sequences, and settings differ by purchase region and location. Decide separately whether to enable data roaming
A travel mode does not itself determine whether your phone can use mobile data abroad. Roaming is a separate setting, and your provider’s plan and charges matter. Samsung’s US instructions give the path Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Data Roaming Access; check your carrier’s terms before enabling it. Samsung US data-roaming guidance
Samsung UK warns that a provider may charge extra for data roaming and says roaming must be allowed by both the provider and plan. Those terms depend on your carrier, so verify eligibility and costs directly before your trip. Samsung UK data-roaming guidance

Check lost-device recovery before you leave
Review your phone’s lost-device settings before travelling rather than assuming a travel mode will enable them. Samsung’s guidance names Allow this phone to be found, Send last location, and Offline finding. For the described Samsung Find and SmartThings Find functions, Samsung lists prerequisites including a powered-on device, a stable network, a Samsung account, and enabled remote controls.
