The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra launched in the US at $1,299.99, while the standard Google Pixel 11 launched at $899—a $400.99 difference between their starting prices. The Ultra has the larger, higher-resolution display and more listed rear-camera hardware; the Pixel is smaller and Google specifies seven years of OS and security updates from its first US Google Store availability. These are launch-price and specification comparisons, not a verdict on real-world performance.
US launch price and release dates
Samsung announced a US starting price of $1,299.99 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra on February 25, 2026, with general availability beginning March 11. Google announced the standard Pixel 11 at $899 on August 12, 2026, and said Pixel 11 phones would reach shelves beginning August 20. The difference between those announced starting prices is $400.99: $1,299.99 minus $899. Samsung’s announcement and Google’s launch announcement are the sources for those dates and prices.

Display: larger Samsung panel, higher listed resolution
The Ultra gives you a 6.9-inch QHD+ panel, compared with the Pixel 11’s 6.3-inch 1080 × 2424 display. That makes Samsung’s the larger, higher-resolution screen on paper; the Pixel’s smaller dimensions may suit someone who prioritizes a more compact phone. Their refresh-rate ranges overlap, though Samsung lists adaptive 1–120 Hz and Google lists 60–120 Hz.
The listed brightness numbers are manufacturer-defined measurements, not results from a common test. Samsung gives a 2,600-nit peak figure; Google lists up to 2,000 nits HDR and 3,000 nits peak. Those figures alone do not establish which screen looks brighter in the same conditions.

Cameras: different hardware approaches
Samsung lists four rear cameras: a 200 MP wide camera, 50 MP ultrawide, 10 MP 3x telephoto and 50 MP 5x telephoto. The standard Pixel 11 lists a 48 MP wide, 13 MP ultrawide and 10.8 MP 5x telephoto. Samsung therefore lists more camera modules and a higher-resolution main sensor, while both specifications include a 5x optical telephoto.

Performance, battery and charging
Processor
The Galaxy S26 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy; the Pixel 11 uses Google’s Tensor G6. These are the specified chips, not evidence of a speed, gaming or AI winner. A fair performance comparison would require independent testing under comparable conditions.
Battery capacity
Samsung lists 5,000 mAh typical capacity and 4,855 mAh rated minimum; Google lists 4,985 mAh typical and 4,840 mAh minimum. The typical figures are close, but capacity does not determine daily endurance on its own. No matched battery-life result for these phones is established here.

Charging
Samsung states wired charging of up to 60 W and says the adapter is sold separately. Google describes a different measure: up to 55% in about 30 minutes when using a separately sold 30 W USB-C PPS charger or higher. It also lists Pixelsnap Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25 W. Because the manufacturers specify different conditions and measures, the figures do not support a direct charging-time comparison.
Software support and configurations
Google documents seven years of OS and security updates for the Pixel 11, counted from its first availability on the Google Store in the US. The reviewed Samsung announcement does not establish a matching support duration, so these sources do not support a direct comparison of update commitments.
Best Value
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
Samsung lists 256GB and 512GB S26 Ultra models with 12GB RAM, plus a 1TB model with 16GB RAM. Google’s listed standard Pixel 11 configurations are 256GB and 512GB, each with 12GB RAM. Check the exact regional model and SKU, since specifications and availability may differ by market. Google’s specifications page gives the Pixel details.
Which one fits your priorities?
- Consider the S26 Ultra if you want the larger 6.9-inch QHD+ display, Samsung’s listed 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, or a 1TB storage option.
- Consider the standard Pixel 11 if you prefer the smaller 6.3-inch display, want Google’s listed seven-year US update commitment, or its lower announced US starting price better suits your budget.
- Do not decide on performance, camera quality or battery life from these specifications alone. The chip names, megapixel counts and capacity figures do not establish a real-world winner.
These are differences in listed hardware and commitments, not recommendations based on comparative hands-on testing. Samsung describes its Galaxy S26 series as designed to make AI feel effortless; that is the company’s product positioning, not independent evidence that its AI performs better than Google’s.
