The Galaxy S26 FE and vivo X500 are both officially presented smartphones, but their published prices come from different markets: Samsung lists a U.S. starting price of $699.99, while vivo lists the X500 in China from CNY 5,499 for 12GB+256GB. Those figures are not a like-for-like price difference. The clearest documented contrasts are the Samsung’s 6.7-inch 120Hz display and triple rear-camera specifications versus the vivo’s listed Dimensity 9600M processor and broader storage range.

How do the displays compare?
Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a refresh rate of 60Hz or 120Hz and a stated peak brightness of 1,900 nits. The cited vivo China product page does not provide corresponding display details, so the available specifications cannot establish which phone has the sharper, brighter or smoother screen.

What camera hardware does each phone list?
Galaxy S26 FE
Samsung lists a 50MP wide camera with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. The front camera is 12MP. These are hardware specifications; they do not show how the phones compare in photo or video quality.

Processor, RAM and storage differences
vivo identifies the X500’s processor as a Dimensity 9600M with an eight-core CPU and lists 12GB of RAM. Its three listed storage configurations are 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. Samsung’s cited U.S. announcement lists 128GB and 256GB storage options but does not state the S26 FE’s processor or RAM.
On the specifications available, the X500 offers higher maximum listed storage and a stated RAM configuration. That does not establish which phone performs faster: a meaningful performance verdict would need comparable testing, not just a processor name or memory figure.

Size and weight
Samsung lists the S26 FE at 161.6 × 76.9 × 7.4 mm and 193g. vivo lists the X500 at 157.01 × 74.49 × 8.15 mm and 211–213g, with the weight varying by color. On these published figures, the X500 is shorter and narrower but thicker and heavier. Dimensions alone do not determine which phone feels more comfortable in hand.
Price difference: why the listed figures do not make a direct comparison
Samsung Electronics America announced a U.S. starting price of $699.99 for the Galaxy S26 FE. The announcement lists 128GB and 256GB models but does not give a separate price for each in the cited information. Samsung’s U.S. announcement

vivo’s China product page lists suggested prices for specific configurations:
| vivo X500 configuration | Suggested price on vivo’s China page |
|---|---|
| 12GB + 256GB | CNY 5,499 |
| 12GB + 512GB | CNY 5,999 |
| 12GB + 1TB | CNY 6,999 |
These are manufacturer-published figures for different markets and storage configurations, not a comparable local price gap. A currency conversion alone would not account for regional taxes, retailer pricing, promotions or availability. The cited vivo page does not establish prices outside China, and the cited Samsung figure applies to the U.S.

Launch timing and regional availability
Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 FE on August 27, 2026. Its U.S. announcement says availability begins September 3 through select carriers, followed by availability on September 4 through Samsung.com, carriers and nationwide retailers. vivo’s China product page gives September 2026 as the X500 launch timing. It does not establish international availability, network compatibility or local warranty terms.
Which phone should you choose?
The specifications do not establish an overall winner. The Galaxy S26 FE is the clearer choice on paper if your priorities include a documented 120Hz display specification and a stated 3x optical-zoom telephoto camera. The X500’s official page specifies its processor, 12GB RAM and storage up to 1TB, but the cited material does not provide comparable display or camera details, benchmarks, battery testing or software-support information.
