Price is less clear-cut: Samsung’s U.S. product page displayed $799.99 for the 128GB S25 and $899.99 for 256GB on October 4, 2026, while Google’s $999 figure for the Pixel 9 Pro is its 2024 U.S. launch price—not a current-price quote. Choose between them by comparing same-day prices for the storage you want, then weighing size, camera priorities and software support.
Price difference: compare current offers, not mismatched prices
Samsung’s U.S. purchase page displayed the unlocked Galaxy S25 at $799.99 for 128GB and $899.99 for 256GB when checked on October 4, 2026. Those are manufacturer-page prices observed on that date, not guaranteed prices at other retailers or later dates. Google announced a U.S. starting price of $999 for the Pixel 9 Pro at launch in 2024; that is launch MSRP, not a verified current street price.

| Phone and price context | Storage | Price |

| Galaxy S25, Samsung U.S. purchase page, observed October 4, 2026 | 128GB | $799.99 |
| Galaxy S25, Samsung U.S. purchase page, observed October 4, 2026 | 256GB | $899.99 |
| Pixel 9 Pro, Google U.S. launch MSRP announced in 2024 | Starting configuration; storage not specified in the cited launch figure | $999 |
Subtracting the observed Samsung prices from Google’s launch MSRP gives nominal gaps of $199 versus the 128GB S25 and $99 versus the 256GB model. Because those figures come from different dates and pricing contexts, they do not establish today’s actual difference. For a useful comparison, check both phones on the same day and match storage, unlocked or carrier status, and any trade-in or financing conditions.

How their size, screens and weight compare
| Specification | Samsung Galaxy S25 | Google Pixel 9 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.2-inch full rectangle; 2340 × 1080; Dynamic AMOLED 2X; up to 120Hz | 6.3-inch LTPO OLED; 1280 × 2856; 1–120Hz |
| Weight | 162g | 199g |
The Pixel’s published specifications describe a display that is 0.1 inch larger diagonally and has more pixels than the S25’s. Both specifications list refresh rates up to 120Hz, though the Pixel’s is specified as adaptive from 1Hz. These figures describe the panels on paper; they do not by themselves determine which screen looks better to an individual viewer.

At 162g versus 199g, the S25 is 37g lighter according to the manufacturers’ published figures. That difference favors Samsung if low weight and easy pocket carry matter more than having the larger display.
Camera specifications: what can be compared
Samsung lists three rear cameras on the S25: 50MP, 10MP and 12MP, with 3× optical zoom. Google describes the Pixel 9 Pro as having a Pro triple-rear-camera system, but the detailed camera resolutions are not present in the cited specifications here. That is not enough information for a complete spec-by-spec camera comparison, and megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality.

Google lists the Pixel 9 Pro’s typical battery capacity as 4,700mAh. It says the phone can reach up to 55% charge in about 30 minutes when using Google’s separately sold 45W USB-C charger. That is a manufacturer charging claim tied to that accessory, not a directly comparable test against the S25.

A comparable Galaxy S25 battery and charging figure is not established in the cited specifications, and there are no equivalent battery-life test results for the two phones. The Pixel’s capacity and charging claim therefore do not show which device lasts longer in everyday use. Samsung’s U.S. listing also says the Galaxy S25 does not include a charger.

Google says Pixel 9 phones receive seven years of OS updates, Pixel Drops and security updates, counted from the date each phone first became available on the Google Store in the U.S. This is Google’s stated support commitment; it does not guarantee that every feature will be available in every country or language.

A matching Samsung support-period figure is not established by the cited source set, so it would be misleading to infer that the S25 has a shorter support window from this comparison alone.

Which phone fits your priorities?
- Choose the Galaxy S25 if: lower weight and a slightly smaller display suit you, or its same-day price for your preferred storage is better.
- Consider the Pixel 9 Pro if: you prefer the larger, higher-resolution panel or place particular value on Google’s stated seven-year update commitment.
- Compare both directly if: camera quality, battery endurance or overall performance is decisive. The cited specifications do not settle those real-world comparisons.
