Yes—the Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra support eSIM, but activation also depends on the phone’s regional version, your country, and your mobile carrier. The Galaxy S21 FE is a separate model: Samsung Germany says it does not support eSIM.
Which Galaxy S21 models support eSIM?
Samsung’s supported-device list includes the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. Samsung UK also confirms eSIM capability for the S21 family, saying, “S21 devices also support the use of an eSIM if these are supported by your mobile network.” That support page was updated January 13, 2022. eSIM capability in the handset does not guarantee that a plan can be activated. Samsung Canada says eSIM service may vary by country and carrier, and Samsung notes that eSIM use may be disabled on devices purchased in some countries. Before relying on eSIM—especially with an imported or second-hand phone—check the exact model and country variant with Samsung for the market where it was sold, then confirm that your current carrier supports eSIM for that device and plan. If Add eSIM is missing or setup fails, contact your carrier and ask whether eSIM activation is available for your exact handset and plan. Converting an existing physical SIM to eSIM is also carrier-dependent.
