The Samsung Galaxy M36 and Galaxy F36 have closely matched headline specifications on Samsung’s India product pages: a 6.7-inch-class 120Hz Super AMOLED display, the same listed rear-camera resolutions, a 5,000mAh typical battery and 197g weight. The clearest documented distinctions are the M36’s named Exynos 1380 chipset and its published Android-upgrade commitment. Prices require caution: Samsung’s M36 figures are 2025 introductory prices, while its F36 store page shows a changeable starting price.

Samsung’s India specifications pages show substantial overlap in the two phones’ headline hardware. The display dimensions are presented differently, but both are in the 6.7-inch class. The values below are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results.

What is the price difference?
The available Samsung prices are not a like-for-like, same-date comparison. Samsung Newsroom India announced the M36’s introductory prices on 30 June 2025: ₹16,499 for 6GB/128GB including a ₹1,000 instant bank discount, ₹17,999 for 8GB/128GB, and ₹20,999 for 8GB/256GB. Samsung said sales would begin on 12 July 2025 through Samsung.com, Amazon and selected retail stores. These are historical launch terms, not confirmed current prices. Samsung Newsroom India’s announcement gives the variant details and discount basis.

Samsung’s F36 store page displays 6GB/128GB “From ₹21999.00.” The store price and availability can change. It does not establish a current matched price for the M36, so subtracting that display price from an M36 launch offer would produce a misleading price difference. Check Samsung’s F36 listing for the current displayed offer.

How to compare the prices fairly
For a useful comparison in India, check both phones on the same day and match the RAM and storage capacity. Compare the final payable amount after eligible bank or exchange offers, and account for seller, stock and warranty terms. A displayed starting price, a marketplace offer and a time-limited launch price are different kinds of figures.
Does the M36 have better performance?
Samsung’s M36 launch announcement identifies its processor as Exynos 1380. The retrieved F36 specifications page lists an octa-core processor and CPU clock speeds of 2.4GHz and 2GHz but does not name its chipset. Those details do not establish a silicon-level comparison or prove which phone performs better in everyday use. The available sources also contain no comparative benchmarks.

Do the cameras or displays make one phone better?
The listed display resolution and refresh rate, camera resolutions and OIS support are closely matched. Those specifications do not show how the phones compare in image processing, low-light photos, video, brightness or battery endurance. Samsung’s product pages provide no head-to-head test results, so megapixel counts alone are not a sound basis for naming a camera winner.

Software support and launch dates
Samsung’s M36 announcement promises six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung’s product pages list the security update period for both models as valid until 31 December 2031. The date is a manufacturer-stated support-period endpoint; it does not guarantee that every update reaches both phones on the same day. Samsung lists the F36 launch date as 19 July 2025.
