Sammy Fans’ October 6, 2026 report says the update details, attributed to tipster Kailash, describe a fix for an issue where AOD “did not work correctly under certain conditions.” This is a secondary report, not a Samsung change log located for the release.

- Open Galaxy Store on your Galaxy phone.
- Search for Always On Display.
- Open the app’s store listing and install an update if one is offered.
This search route is consistent with a Samsung Community notice from December 9, 2025 about a separate One UI beta issue. That notice is useful as a way to locate the app; it is not official guidance about version 8.9.66.1.

If Galaxy Store does not offer an update, the available report does not establish whether your phone is ineligible, the rollout has not reached your region, or your installed app is already current.
If Always On Display still does not work
First check whether AOD is enabled in Settings and whether a power mode is preventing it from running. These are general troubleshooting checks, not confirmed causes of the issue addressed by version 8.9.66.1.

Check power and device conditions
- Samsung says AOD is unavailable while Power saving mode is on. Turn it off and check AOD again.
- Samsung Electronics Service’s Korean troubleshooting guidance, dated January 1, 2025, also lists battery charge below 5%, Power Saving or Ultra Power Saving modes, use of the Mobile Keypad, and some accessibility features as conditions in which AOD may not work. Labels and behavior may vary by software and region.
Refresh the phone’s software state
Samsung Gulf’s general troubleshooting guidance recommends checking for a software update and restarting the phone. After checking those, revisit AOD settings and test again. A system update and an AOD app update are separate checks: the former updates phone software, while the latter is distributed through Galaxy Store.

AOD fixes can be narrowly scoped. For example, an earlier report about version 8.9.55.2 described a lock-screen clock interface issue under certain language settings and discussed One UI 9.0 and 8.5 availability. That is a separate historical update and does not identify the bug or compatibility of version 8.9.66.1.
