If your Galaxy A57 battery is draining quickly, first check Settings > Device care > Battery to see what is using power. Then run Device care’s optimization and adjust background activity only for apps that do not need immediate updates. These steps can help identify a software or usage cause before you make broader changes.
Start by finding what is using battery
Open Settings > Device care > Battery and review battery use by activity. Look for an app consuming more power than you would expect, especially one you rarely use. Focus troubleshooting on what the usage list shows rather than disabling system functions indiscriminately. Menu names or locations can change with software updates and may vary by market.

Run Device care optimization
Go to Settings > Device care > Optimize now. The Galaxy A57 user guide says this feature can identify apps using excessive battery, clear unnecessary items, close background apps, and scan for malware. Review the battery-use screen afterward to see whether the activity you noticed has changed.

For apps that do not need to work while you are not using them, open Settings > Device care > Battery > Background usage limits and consider adding them to the sleeping or deep sleeping lists.

Samsung says deep sleeping apps become active only when opened, and cannot provide notifications or updates while inactive. Do not deep-sleep messaging, security, or other time-sensitive apps if you rely on immediate alerts. Restricting background activity can save power, but it can also delay or prevent updates and notifications.
Use Power saving when you need to reduce consumption
Power saving limits background network use, syncing, and location checking. Try it as a temporary way to reduce consumption or extend time between charges, especially when you do not need those background functions. The trade-off is reduced background convenience; the setting alone does not establish that a battery or phone is faulty.

Check for software updates
Samsung recommends keeping the device up to date and checking regularly for software updates. Install the update offered for your own A57 through its software update settings. Samsung’s notice for the SM-A576B lists Android 16 releases, but update details can differ by model variant, country, or carrier, so a listed release is not necessarily available to every A57.

If battery use remains unusually high after checking apps, optimizing Device care, and reviewing background restrictions and updates, run the phone diagnostics in the Samsung Members app and check battery status. Samsung support recommends this diagnostic when earlier troubleshooting has not resolved the issue.

If diagnostics indicate a problem, or you see visible battery swelling, contact Samsung or a qualified repair service. Do not open the phone or install an unverified replacement battery; the cited hardware guidance about degradation and swelling is general, not specific to the A57.

Samsung lists a typical battery capacity of 5,000 mAh for the Galaxy A57 and advertises “up to two days” of use. Samsung says that estimate is based on an average-use profile and was independently assessed by UX Connect Research in the UK from January 8–18, 2026, using pre-release SM-A576 devices with default settings, LTE and 5G Sub6, but not 5G mmWave. It is not a guarantee for an individual phone: Samsung says actual life varies with network conditions, features and apps, calls and messages, charging frequency, and other factors.

The available guidance does not establish a normal A57 standby-drain rate, a universal period for battery life to settle after setup or an update, or an A57-specific battery-drain defect. If the steps above do not help, use Samsung Members diagnostics and seek support rather than relying on a fixed screen-on-time target.
