There is no single reliable price difference without matching the country, storage capacity, seller type and sale date. On the specifications, the POCO X8 Pro lists a higher-resolution 1.5K display and configurations up to 12GB/512GB; the Galaxy A56 has a larger 6.7-inch screen, a documented three-camera rear setup and a clearly stated software-support commitment. Choose according to those priorities, then compare current local prices for the same storage tier.

These are published specifications, not a same-condition performance or camera test. In particular, chipset names do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use, and megapixel counts do not predict photo quality.

Which phone has the better screen?

The POCO X8 Pro has the higher stated resolution: 1.5K at 2756 × 1268 pixels, compared with the A56’s FHD+ panel. Samsung’s display is slightly larger at 6.7 inches, versus 6.59 inches for POCO. Both manufacturers list 120Hz refresh rates.

POCO gives brightness figures of 800 nits typical, 2,000 nits HBM and 3,500 nits peak over 25% of the display area. Those figures use different conditions and should not be treated as a direct brightness win over Samsung without matching measurement methods.

What the camera specifications establish

Samsung’s launch specifications identify a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro camera, plus a 12MP front camera. That documents three rear-camera roles for the A56. The source set does not establish comparable POCO camera details or head-to-head image and video quality, so a camera choice should rely on exact local model specifications and sample photos rather than megapixels alone.

Performance, battery and durability

Performance

The A56 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1580. POCO lists a 4nm Dimensity 8500-Ultra with a maximum clock speed of 3.4GHz. These specifications describe different platforms; without a comparable benchmark or real-world test, they do not prove that one phone is faster.

Battery and charging

Samsung specifies a 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging for the A56. PhoneArena lists 6,500mAh for the POCO X8 Pro, while POCO’s official page is the appropriate source for the exact battery and charging details of the regional version being sold. Capacity alone does not establish battery life: screen settings, network conditions and workload affect endurance.

Durability and regional variations

Samsung specifies IP67 for the A56. PhoneArena lists IP68 for the POCO X8 Pro, but confirm the rating on the manufacturer’s page for your local SKU. Neither rating is a guarantee against liquid damage or a promise that water damage will be covered by warranty. POCO also cautions that connectivity and some features vary by region and operator; check local network compatibility before buying.

Which has the clearer software-support promise?

Samsung’s launch announcement promises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung’s UK product page states that security updates are valid until 31 March 2032. Treat that date as specific to the UK product page, and check the current support terms for your region.

A comparable support-duration commitment was not established on POCO’s official X8 Pro page. That does not prove that the phone will receive no updates; it means there is no equivalent duration to compare from the cited official information. Buyers who keep phones for many years have a clearer published commitment from Samsung.

How to compare the price difference fairly

Match the country, storage tier, seller type and date before deciding which phone is cheaper. A manufacturer list price in one market cannot be compared directly with a retailer offer or a price shown in another currency.

Price reference What it says What it does not establish
Samsung U.S. manufacturer list, March 2026 128GB: $499.99; 256GB: $549.99. Both entries are marked EOL. These are not current checkout prices or a live offer; Samsung says prices may change without notice.
PhoneArena comparison listing POCO X8 Pro 8GB/256GB shown at €389. This euro listing cannot be directly compared with the Samsung U.S. dollar list prices to calculate a meaningful gap.
Current local seller prices Check for both phones at the same time, in the same country and at matched storage. No universal current price difference is established by the figures above.
  1. Choose the country where you will buy and use the phone.
  2. Match storage capacity; for example, compare 256GB versions rather than a 128GB model with a 512GB one.
  3. Compare like with like: manufacturer price with manufacturer price, or retailer checkout price with retailer checkout price, including any required taxes and delivery.
  4. Check whether each listing is in stock, new and unlocked, and whether it is a promotion or a regular price.

Which one fits your priorities?

  • Choose the Galaxy A56 if Samsung’s published update commitment matters most, or you want a documented ultrawide and macro camera alongside the main camera.
  • Choose the POCO X8 Pro if higher listed display resolution or its specified 12GB/512GB configuration is more important to you, subject to local availability and compatibility.
  • Decide on price only after checking local matched listings. The available Samsung and POCO price references use different markets, currencies and dates, so they do not support a single price-gap figure.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
