The Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A57 share the same listed rear-camera setup, but they differ in display size, front-camera resolution, and expandable storage. Samsung’s U.S. launch price for the A57 was $549.99; the available evidence does not establish a current, like-for-like A55 price, so it cannot support a reliable price-difference figure.

What changes between the A55 and A57?
Display: a modest size increase
The A57’s listed screen is 0.1 inch larger, and Samsung calls it Super AMOLED Plus rather than Super AMOLED. Both are FHD+ panels with refresh rates up to 120Hz. Those labels and figures do not establish comparative brightness, color accuracy, or viewing quality.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCameras: same rear resolutions, different front-camera resolution
Samsung lists the same 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro arrangement on the back of both phones, with optical image stabilization (OIS) on each main camera. The A55 lists a 32MP front camera; the A57 lists 12MP. Megapixel counts alone do not show which phone produces better photos or selfies, so a camera-quality verdict requires comparative image samples or testing.

Storage: a documented microSD advantage for the A55
Samsung specifies microSD expansion up to 1TB for the A55. The cited A57 specification page does not state microSD support, so confirm the exact model’s local specifications if removable storage is important rather than assuming the newer phone has it.

A precise A55-versus-A57 price difference is not established here because a contemporaneous A55 price in matching storage, market, currency, and seller conditions was not verified. To calculate a useful difference, check both phones in the same country on the same date, match storage tiers, and compare unlocked with unlocked or equivalent carrier offers. Keep trade-in discounts and promotional pricing separate from regular prices.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the A55 if you want Samsung-documented microSD expansion, or if its current local price makes it the better value for your needs.
- Consider the A57 if you prefer its slightly larger display, or if its price and configuration are attractive in your market.
- Compare camera needs carefully: the rear-camera resolution lists match, while the front-camera megapixel figures differ. Neither fact alone settles real-world photo quality.
- Check local model details before buying, including network-band compatibility, storage options, and current price. Regional variants can differ.
For U.S. buyers, Samsung’s cited A57 purchase page says the phone does not include a charger. Confirm box contents for your market and package before purchase.

Is the A57 a worthwhile upgrade from the A55?
The listed specification changes are incremental rather than a clear across-the-board upgrade: a slightly larger display, a lower listed front-camera resolution, and no microSD support established by the cited A57 page. The available evidence does not establish comparative battery life, speed, or camera output. If you already own an A55, decide based on the A57’s local price and features you will actually use rather than its generation number alone.
