Start by finding your dryer’s complete model number and checking its Samsung support page before buying a fuse or opening the appliance. Samsung repair guides, parts, and access steps vary by model, and no-heat or no-start symptoms alone do not confirm a failed thermal fuse.
Identify your Samsung dryer model and the correct part
Find the full model code on the dryer’s rating label, then open the matching Samsung support page for your model and region. Check its repair guide, manual, and parts diagram before ordering anything. Samsung’s support resources are model-specific, so a part or disassembly sequence shown for one dryer may not fit yours.

Confirm that the diagram identifies the component you need: a thermal fuse, thermal limit, thermoprotector, or another similarly named part. These names do not make the components interchangeable. Match a candidate part to your complete model number and the part diagram.
Do no-heat or no-start symptoms mean the fuse is blown?
Not by themselves. No-start and no-heat are among the reasons a thermal fuse may be replaced, but either symptom can have other causes. Treat the symptom as a reason to diagnose the dryer, not as proof that the fuse has failed. If you cannot verify the component and its location in documentation for your model, contact Samsung support or a qualified appliance technician.

Before opening the dryer
- Disconnect power. Unplug the dryer before servicing it, as the documented repair procedure directs. Do not begin while it is connected to power.
- Use model-specific instructions. Panel removal and access differ among dryers, including electric, gas, and heat-pump models. Do not assume a procedure for one configuration applies to another.
- Stop if the instructions or wiring are unclear. Use Samsung support or qualified appliance service rather than guessing about connections or disassembly.
How the replacement works on one documented electric-dryer example
The following is a high-level outline of one documented Samsung electric-dryer procedure, not instructions for every Samsung dryer. Follow the repair guide for your exact model. The cited procedure lists a multi-screwdriver and Phillips bit.
- Unplug the dryer.
- Remove the top panel, control panel, and front panel as specified in the model’s procedure.
- Remove the heating-element housing to reach the thermal-limit component in that example.
- Disconnect the component’s wires and remove it, following the model-specific instructions.
- Install the correctly matched replacement, reconnect the wires, and reassemble the dryer in the documented order.
If your model’s guide does not match this access sequence, do not force the procedure. Use the guide for your model rather than adapting another dryer’s steps.

Check airflow and lint if overheating is a concern
A replacement fuse does not address a blocked exhaust path. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission warns: “Lint can block the flow of air, cause excessive heat build-up, and result in a fire in some dryers.” Check the lint screen, vent, exhaust duct, and whether air is escaping outdoors. CPSC recommends cleaning the lint screen before or after each load, periodically cleaning the vent and exhaust duct, and checking outside exhaust flow. If you disconnect ducting to check for a blockage, reconnect it before operating the dryer. Arrange qualified service for internal cleaning or diagnosis when needed.

If the replacement fuse opens again
Do not bypass the fuse or keep replacing it without finding the cause. A recurring failure calls for diagnosis, including checking for restricted airflow and other model-specific faults.
