You can create a Samsung account without owning a Samsung phone or tablet. Open Samsung Account in a web browser, choose “Create an account,” follow the prompts, and verify your email address. Samsung documents this route for people without a Samsung mobile device; you do not need to buy one to register.
What you need before you start
- An internet-connected device with a web browser. It can be a computer or another phone; it does not have to be made by Samsung.
- An email inbox you can access to complete account verification.
Samsung’s France support guide explicitly describes website account creation for people without a Samsung smartphone or tablet. Samsung also documents browser-based setup in its US account guide.

How to create the account in a browser
- Open the Samsung Account website using a browser on your internet-connected device. If available, use your local Samsung website; page layout and wording can differ by country.
- Select Create an account and follow the instructions shown on the page. Enter the requested details and complete any on-screen checks.
- Open the verification email Samsung sends. If it is not in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.
- In the email, select Verify account. If that button does not work, Samsung’s France guide says you can copy the verification URL from the email into a browser, then follow the displayed steps.
The France guide, updated 10 March 2026, describes the email-verification process. Samsung Canada’s setup and management guide was updated 16 May 2026 and cautions that screens and settings can vary by country and software.

What happens when you sign in later
Creating the account and signing in are separate steps. A later website sign-in may require two-step verification, even though account creation itself does not require a Samsung phone. Samsung’s US sign-in troubleshooting page lists methods that can include a code by text message, a notification on a Galaxy device already signed in to the account, an authenticator app, or backup codes. Which methods appear can depend on your region and account state; the listed alternatives are not guaranteed to be available to everyone.

If the verification email or sign-in step causes trouble
The verification email has not arrived
- Check spam or junk mail, then look again in the inbox associated with the address you entered.
- If you find the message, use its verification button or copy its URL into your browser.
- If the message is still missing, return to the account page and follow the options it provides; the exact recovery prompts may vary.
You cannot complete two-step verification
Use a verification method offered on the sign-in screen that you can access. If the expected method is unavailable, follow Samsung’s account sign-in troubleshooting guidance rather than assuming SMS can always be bypassed or that every alternative is enabled for your account.
What a Samsung account is useful for
After setup, an account can provide access to Samsung services across devices. Samsung UK gives SmartThings and Samsung Pay as examples, and says eligible products can be registered to view product information, remaining warranty details, and support options. Product registration is a possible later use, not a condition of creating an account.
