What is the Salter Crisp & Go?
It is a 1500W air fryer with glass cooking containers. Salter’s official product listing gives the appliance a 4L capacity, four presets, adjustable temperature up to 200°C and dimensions of 27.15 × 29.4 × 25 cm. Expert Reviews’ Danielle Amato describes a 4L main dish and a smaller 1.5L dish. The vessels can serve for storage as well as cooking, which may suit kitchens where a removable container is more useful than a fixed drawer. Check the contents of the particular package: Salter’s separate bundle is described as including three 1.5L glass containers with lids and crisper trays, so bundle contents should not be assumed to come with the base fryer. Expert Reviews published Danielle Amato’s review on 27 August 2026. She found the appliance compact, straightforward to use and capable of good results. Her findings are review tests, not guaranteed cooking times for every portion, recipe or kitchen.

Chips and a whole chicken
Amato reports cooking about 500g of chips at 200°C for 20–25 minutes. She also says a medium-sized chicken fitted only just, cooking at 190°C in roughly an hour. The chicken example is a useful capacity warning: a whole bird may fit, but the space is tight, and size, shape and arrangement will affect whether it works in practice. Expert Reviews’ review

The review flags the large bowl adapter as an area that could be more secure. If you expect to move the appliance or handle the vessel frequently, consider whether that connection feels dependable for your use; the review does not establish a broader safety finding.

How much does it cost to run?
Amato used a power meter for an empty, cold-start run at 200°C and measured 0.48 kWh. She calculated an estimated cost of about 13p per hour using a unit rate of 26.11p/kWh. That is a result from one specified test and a dated electricity rate, not a current tariff quote or a typical cost for cooking food. Your cost depends on your tariff and how long the appliance runs.

The 4L main vessel and 1.5L smaller vessel point to a compact format rather than a high-volume family cooker. Salter positions the product for smaller kitchens, apartments and motorhomes. - Think carefully: you often cook several components at once, need generous room for a large joint or whole bird, or want to minimize batches.
What should you know about replacement bowls?
At the time of the Expert Reviews article, Salter’s website did not list official replacement cooking bowls, and the reviewer noted the lack of an option to buy additional bowls. Availability may have changed since the review. Check directly with Salter for the exact product variant before buying, especially if being able to replace a damaged vessel is important. The separate bundle listing describes additional containers, but it does not establish that every container is a compatible replacement for the fryer’s cooking bowls.
How does it compare with other air fryers?
Expert Reviews compared the Crisp & Go with the Ninja Crispi’s similar glass-container format and named an Instant Vortex dual-drawer model as a larger-capacity alternative. Its reported comparison prices—£150 for the Ninja Crispi and £80 for the Instant Vortex—were prices at the time of that 2026 review, not current offers. If your priority is cooking a full meal in one go or having clearly available replacement bowls, compare the exact capacity, package and spare-parts support of alternatives before deciding.
