Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire AI customer-research startup Listen Labs, but the acquisition has not yet closed and Salesforce has not disclosed a purchase price. The roughly $2 billion figure is attributed to media reports, not confirmed transaction terms. Salesforce expects the deal to close in its fiscal fourth quarter of 2027, subject to customary conditions, including required regulatory clearance.

What did Salesforce agree to acquire?

Listen Labs is an AI-powered customer research and human simulation platform. Salesforce says its agents can design studies, recruit participants, conduct in-depth research and synthesize findings in one platform. Its digital twins are simulations grounded in real customer behavior, which Salesforce says teams can use to explore how customers might respond to a product, marketing message or idea before further testing.

Salesforce describes a global network of more than 50 million potential participants and says interviews can be conducted in more than 120 languages. The company also characterizes the platform as compressing research timelines from months to days. These are figures and performance descriptions from Salesforce’s September 29, 2026 announcement, not independently verified measurements. Salesforce announcement

Is the $2 billion price confirmed?

No. Salesforce did not disclose a deal price. SiliconANGLE described the acquisition as a reported $2 billion deal and noted that neither company disclosed terms; the amount should therefore be treated as reported, not as confirmed consideration. SiliconANGLE’s report

Separate financing context should not be mistaken for the acquisition price: TechCrunch reported that Listen Labs had a $125 million Series C term sheet at a $1.5 billion valuation, but that the proposed financing did not close. The report said Salesforce acquisition discussions were the likely reason. Those figures concern the reported financing process, not confirmed terms of the acquisition. TechCrunch’s report

When is the acquisition expected to close?

Salesforce expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027. That is a forecast, not a completed closing date: the agreement remains subject to customary closing conditions, including required regulatory clearance. Salesforce’s announcement does not establish a final regulatory outcome or confirm that the acquisition has closed.

Why does Salesforce say Listen Labs fits?

Salesforce says the acquisition will expand how businesses understand customers and users, complement Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud, and add to its broader AI portfolio. Those are Salesforce’s stated strategic aims; the announcement does not establish that integrations or customer outcomes have already been delivered.

Salesforce AI Labs president Aman Naimat said Listen Labs uses AI agents to conduct research and uncover context behind customer and user feedback. Listen Labs CEO and co-founder Alfred Wahlforss said AI could enable companies to have thousands of real conversations at once and simulate customer responses before acting. Both statements come from parties to the transaction and describe their view of the product’s potential, not independent findings.

What is not yet established?

  • The final purchase consideration: Salesforce has not announced a price.
  • Completion of the acquisition: Salesforce has announced an agreement and an expected fiscal Q4 2027 close, subject to conditions.
  • Post-acquisition product availability, pricing, integration timing or changes to Listen Labs’ service.
  • Independent comparative evidence for the platform’s scale, speed or research outcomes.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
