SailPoint’s October 6, 2026 Navigate announcement extends its identity-security platform to AI agents and other non-human identities, combining agent discovery, governance, runtime controls and conditional just-in-time access. The company says several capabilities are beginning a global rollout, while A-ISPM and two named integrations or agents are scheduled for Q4 FY27; the announcement does not provide pricing or a full entitlement matrix.
What SailPoint announced
SailPoint described an expansion of its identity-security platform across Agentic Fabric, Human Fabric and SailPoint Atlas. The announcement links agent discovery to identity governance and runtime protection: organizations are meant to identify agents and their access paths, connect them to ownership and policy, and control access while they operate. These are vendor-described capabilities and intended outcomes, not independently demonstrated security results. SailPoint’s October 6 announcement

Discovery and runtime control for AI agents
SailPoint says discovery can draw on endpoint and browser sensors, SIEM and XDR telemetry, and vault and pipeline discovery for non-human identities. The resulting inventory can include MCP servers, tools, credentials and data stores. Agentic Fabric’s expanded scope includes shadow-AI discovery, runtime authorization and an agent kill switch.

Governance and compliance automation
SailPoint introduced three classes of Autonomous Agents intended to enforce policy, right-size privileges and protect systems while preserving legitimate automation. Human Fabric updates include certifications and segmented identity data. Atlas updates include workflow versioning, execution history and serial loops of up to 1,000 iterations. SailPoint also announced Autonomous Identity Security Posture Management (A-ISPM), which uses identity context in SailPoint Atlas to detect exposures and support remediation.
Can SailPoint give AI agents temporary access instead of permanent credentials?
SailPoint describes conditional just-in-time (JIT) provisioning for people, service accounts and AI agents. Rather than leave privileges permanently enabled, an eligible identity can receive access when needed under conditions such as business justification or reauthentication. The company says activation can take place through Slack or ServiceNow. This is a described access model; the announcement does not specify which product editions or customer configurations support each condition.
In practical terms, the announced approach connects identity context and access requests to runtime controls: discover an agent and its associated tools or credentials, associate it with ownership and policy, then grant or constrain access as work requires. The announcement does not establish how completely discovery covers every environment or whether the controls produce measured reductions in exposure.
Which capabilities are available, and when?
SailPoint says capabilities across Agentic Fabric, Human Fabric and Atlas began rolling out globally at Navigate 2026. It separately lists A-ISPM, the Harbor Pilot Policy Agent and the Proofpoint integration as expected in Q4 FY27. SailPoint’s August 2026 communication had described Agentic Fabric as generally available, standalone and as part of its Identity Security solution, but that earlier statement does not make every October addition generally available. SailPoint’s figures indicate the business problem it is addressing, but they are company-reported statistics, not independent validation of the new controls. Citing its 2026 Horizons of Identity Security report, SailPoint says 79% of enterprises are running AI agents in production and 2% have deployed purpose-built identity-security tools to govern and secure them. Those figures describe SailPoint’s cited research; the announcement does not independently validate the underlying survey.

The product communications establish SailPoint’s stated scope, plans and rollout language. They do not establish independent efficacy, customer outcomes for the new features, or a complete view of product entitlements. Buyers comparing identity-security approaches should assess coverage of enterprise, endpoint and browser agents; discovery of tools, credentials and data access; ownership and lifecycle governance; runtime authorization and remediation; maturity; and the mechanics of temporary access.
