The AMD Ryzen AI 5 330 is an entry-level laptop processor launched on July 30, 2025. It combines four CPU cores (one Zen 5 and three Zen 5c), eight threads, boost clocks up to 4.5 GHz and a 28 W default power target. Its Radeon 820M integrated graphics has only two graphics cores, so the chip is well suited to office work, study, streaming and light coding—but not modern AAA gaming or demanding GPU workloads.
Independent results from a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 show respectable single-core speed, limited multi-core throughput and extremely weak gaming performance. Treat those numbers as measurements of that laptop configuration, not fixed results for every Ryzen AI 5 330 machine.

Ryzen AI 5 330 specifications
AMD lists the Ryzen AI 5 330 in its Ryzen AI 300 Series under the Krackan Point codename. “Krackan Point 2” may appear in third-party coverage, but AMD’s product documentation identifies this model as Krackan Point. In practical terms it is a mobile chip soldered into a laptop, not a socketed desktop upgrade.

What the Radeon 820M offers
Radeon 820M is an integrated GPU with two graphics cores and a listed frequency of up to 2.8 GHz. It draws from system memory rather than dedicated VRAM, and the processor platform supports DirectX 12, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1. Those display capabilities do not indicate strong 3D performance.
Notebookcheck characterizes the 820M as a cut-down Radeon 840M using an RDNA 3.5 design; that architecture description is secondary-source reporting, while AMD’s public specification confirms the model, frequency and graphics-core count. Because the GPU shares memory and power with the CPU, dual-channel RAM is particularly important.
Ryzen AI 5 330 benchmark results
The following results come from Notebookcheck’s Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 16AKP10 review system with 16 GB of DDR5-5600 memory and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. Laptop cooling, firmware, memory mode and power limits can change results substantially.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute| Benchmark | Result | What it indicates |
|---|---|---|
| Cinebench R23 single-core | 1,812 | Responsive light-thread performance |
| Cinebench R23 multi-core | 7,840 | Entry-level sustained multi-core output |
| Cinebench R20 single-core | 704 | Respectable single-thread result |
| Cinebench R20 multi-core | 3,110 | Limited by four cores and laptop power limits |
| Cinebench R15 single-core | 199.9 | Legacy comparison only |
| Cinebench R15 multi-core | 1,191–1,195 | Slight variation by operating mode |
| Cinebench R15 OpenGL | 103.7 fps | Not a modern game-performance measure |
In the same comparison, the Ryzen AI 5 330 trailed the Ryzen AI 5 340, Ryzen AI 7 350, Intel Core Ultra 7 255U and Core 7 150U in overall CPU-performance ratings. Its strength was relatively consistent loop behavior in the tested laptop, not class-leading speed. See the Ryzen AI 5 330 benchmark database and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 review.
Gaming performance: the two-core GPU is the limit
Notebookcheck measured Cyberpunk 2077 at 1,920 × 1,080 and Ultra settings at just 6.4 fps in Adaptive/Auto mode. Battery Saver reached 5.1 fps and Performance mode 5.5 fps. The small difference between modes indicates that Radeon 820M’s graphics capacity—not only the laptop’s power profile—is the main bottleneck.
For playable results, expect to use the lowest preset and, where available, 720p or 900p resolution. Older games, lightweight esports titles, indie games and browser games are the sensible target. Modern AAA games require severe compromises and should not be a reason to buy this processor. No broad game-fps table is established here, so performance must be checked title by title.
What the Ryzen AI branding means
The integrated NPU is rated at up to 50 INT8 TOPS. Lenovo lists up to 56 total TOPS for a specified IdeaPad Slim 5 configuration. These are different measurements: NPU TOPS describes dedicated AI acceleration, while total TOPS can combine CPU, GPU and NPU capability.
TOPS does not guarantee faster generative-AI output. Actual results depend on whether software supports the NPU, the model and quantization, drivers, memory and workload placement. A Copilot+ designation on qualifying Lenovo configurations indicates platform requirements are met; it does not guarantee a particular Windows feature or application experience.

Power limits and laptop design matter
In the reviewed Lenovo system, CPU limits varied by mode:
| Mode | PL1 | PL2 |
|---|---|---|
| Battery Saver | 25 W | 40 W |
| Adaptive/Auto | 30 W | 40 W |
| Performance | 36 W | 51 W |
A thinner laptop, quieter fan profile, older BIOS or weaker cooling may score lower. Background processes, ambient temperature and Windows power settings also affect repeatability.
Ryzen AI 5 330 versus Ryzen AI 5 340 and AI 7 350
| Processor | Cores / threads | Maximum boost | Integrated GPU | Lenovo-listed NPU / total TOPS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryzen AI 5 330 | 4 / 8 | 4.5 GHz | Radeon 820M | 50 / up to 56 |
| Ryzen AI 5 340 | 6 / 12 | 4.8 GHz | Radeon 840M | 50 / up to 59 |
| Ryzen AI 7 350 | 8 / 16 | 5.0 GHz | Radeon 860M | 50 / up to 66 |
The 340 is the practical step-up for multitasking and integrated graphics. The 350 is better for compiling, content creation and sustained workloads. These pairings and platform figures are listed in Lenovo’s IdeaPad Slim 5 specifications.

Who should buy a Ryzen AI 5 330 laptop?
Good fit
- Office applications, web browsing, video calls and streaming
- Schoolwork and general Windows use
- Light programming and development environments
- Basic photo editing
- Supported local-AI features where an NPU is useful
Poor fit
- New AAA gaming or a replacement for a discrete GPU
- Serious 3D rendering and GPU-heavy creative work

Buying checklist
- Confirm dual-channel memory; avoid assuming the processor’s 256 GB maximum applies to the laptop.
- Prefer at least 16 GB RAM for a current Windows and AI-PC purchase.
- Check whether memory is upgradeable, soldered or limited to a single channel.
- Review the laptop’s cooling system, power modes and actual display resolution and refresh rate.
- Check SSD capacity, battery, keyboard, ports and warranty alongside the CPU.
- Compare the complete machine’s price with Ryzen AI 5 340 and Ryzen AI 7 350 alternatives.
- Verify local availability; specifications and configurations vary by country.
Lenovo documents the IdeaPad Slim 5 16AKP10 with Ryzen AI 5 330, Radeon 820M, 16 GB DDR5-5600 in two SODIMMs and 512 GB or 1 TB storage, depending on model. See the Lenovo model specification and Lenovo product family page. Lenovo’s documents do not establish a universal current US checkout price for every Ryzen AI 5 330 configuration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Ryzen AI 5 330 good for gaming?
Only for lightweight or older games at reduced settings. Its two-core Radeon 820M managed 6.4 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p Ultra in the reviewed Lenovo laptop.
Does Ryzen AI 5 330 have four full Zen 5 cores?
AMD specifies one Zen 5 core and three Zen 5c cores, for four cores and eight threads total.
How much RAM should a Ryzen AI 5 330 laptop have?
At least 16 GB is sensible, and dual-channel operation matters because Radeon 820M uses shared system memory.
