The PBP003 is a 2Ah Lithium High Performance battery. Ryobi separately recommends pairing the PBP003 with ONE+ HP tools “For optimized performance.” That recommendation is not evidence that a non-HP budget tool receives the same quantified power increase. How to choose a battery for workshop work
- Verify the platform: Look for the 18V ONE+ label on the tool and check its manual.
- Choose by the need you can establish: The PBP003 is the direct High Performance option; the PBP004 and PBP007 offer 4Ah and 6Ah capacities and are described by Ryobi as longer-runtime options.
- Keep performance claims in context: Ryobi’s “up to” figures compare the PBP003 with its standard lithium-ion batteries. They are not guaranteed results for an individual tool or job.
