What update 1.0.0.7 changes
The RuneScape: Dragonwilds team described the fix as resolving an issue where “progress on multiplayer worlds was not carrying over between worlds.” The reported behavior is tied to which world is used on login: the most frequently visited world takes precedence for the character save. Once it has saved successfully, players can move between worlds without losing character progress, according to the October 2 developer announcement.

In practical terms, log in and allow the most frequently visited world to save before hopping to another world. The announcement does not describe a separate setting players need to change.
Platforms and dedicated-server action
Jagex listed the update as live on Xbox, PS5, Epic Games Store, Steam, Jagex Launcher, and Nintendo Switch 2. Its announcement says dedicated servers must be restarted for the update to take effect: “Dedicated Servers will need to be restarted to apply this update.”

This is separate from the earlier unreadable-save incident
Update 1.0.0.7 addresses progress failing to carry between multiplayer worlds. It is not the same issue as the earlier launch-window problem that left some saves unreadable or inaccessible. On September 29, Jagex said around a thousand players across consoles and PC Game Pass had been affected and described a separate effort to restore affected saves. The October 2 patch announcement does not say it recovers those previously affected saves. See Jagex’s separate September 29 update and save-recovery communication for that incident.
