It also has 16 GB of GDDR7 instead of 12 GB and led the RTX 5070 in Tom’s Hardware’s raster gaming tests. The Ti is the stronger fit if you want more performance headroom or 4K gaming with upscaling; the RTX 5070 is the more economical, lower-power choice for a 1440p-focused build. Those starting prices are not current street-price quotes, so compare the exact cards you can buy before deciding.
What separates the RTX 5070 Ti from the RTX 5070?
Both cards use NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture and support DLSS 4, but the Ti has more CUDA cores, memory capacity and bandwidth. The RTX 5070 has a slightly higher listed boost clock, but clock speed alone does not determine gaming performance.

How much faster is the RTX 5070 Ti?
In Tom’s Hardware’s rasterization test suite, the RTX 5070 ran 20% slower than the Ti at 1440p and 24% slower at 4K. Those are results from that outlet’s games and test settings, not a promise of the same gap in every title. The comparison is for rasterized gaming, not ray tracing, creative workloads, or every DLSS mode.
#1 Best Overall
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
- PCIe 5.0
- WINDFORCE cooling system
Tom’s Hardware’s testing covers 1080p medium, 1080p ultra, 1440p ultra and 4K ultra. Its review describes the Ti as a strong native 1440p option or a 4K card with upscaling, while noting it is not a dramatic generational leap without counting Multi Frame Generation. See the RTX 5070 Ti review and RTX 5070 rasterization results for that outlet’s methodology and broader findings.
Is the RTX 5070 Ti worth $200 more?
At NVIDIA’s listed starting prices, the difference is $200: $749 for the Ti versus $549 for the 5070. That comparison does not establish which is better value at the prices available to you. A particular partner model may cost more, and the relevant question is the actual premium for the exact cards you are considering.

- Axial-Fan Tech Built to Endure - Triple 90mm axial fans feature refined blades for up to 15% more airflow, counter-rotation to cut turbulence, and durable dual-ball bearings. Stealth Mode stops fans at low temps for silent operation, boosting card longevity and performance.
- Masterfully Crafted Cooling - Advanced vapor chamber and ultra-dense heatsink rapidly pull heat from the GPU, while an open aluminum backplate boosts airflow and ventilation, resulting in lower temperatures for stronger performance and stability in demanding workloads.
- VelocityX Software - Gain full control over your PNY graphics card to maximize its performance. Fine-tune core and memory clocks, dial in custom fan curves, and monitor real-time temperatures and speeds, all from one intuitive interface. Save up to five profiles for instant recall.
- Your Creative AI-dvantage - Experience RTX accelerations in top creative apps, world-class NVIDIA Studio drivers engineered and continually updated to provide maximum stability, and a suite of exclusive tools that harness the power of RTX for AI-assisted creative workflows.
- NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture - The Ultimate Platform for Gamers and Creators. Do it all with 5th-Gen Tensor cores for Max AI performance, new streaming multiprocessors that are optimized for neural shaders, and 4th-Gen Ray Tracing cores built for Mega Geometry.
- The Ti’s premium is easier to justify if you value the raster performance lead, want more room for demanding settings or 4K with upscaling, or need the additional 4 GB of VRAM.
- The 5070 is more compelling if its real price is substantially lower, you mainly play at 1440p, and 12 GB suits your games and other workloads.
- Check game-specific benchmarks at your resolution and settings. A broad average cannot tell you whether the Ti’s advantage matters in the games you actually play.
What do DLSS and Multi Frame Generation change?
Both cards support DLSS 4, and NVIDIA lists Multi Frame Generation capability for the Ti. Frame generation creates additional displayed frames; those figures should not be treated as equivalent to native-rendered frame rates. The result depends on the game, settings and enabled features.
For example, NVIDIA’s February 20, 2025 announcement cited up to 191 FPS at 1440p and 149 FPS at 4K in selected full-ray-tracing scenarios using DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation. These were NVIDIA’s scenario-specific claims, not independent benchmark results or typical native-FPS expectations. The announcement is at NVIDIA GeForce News.

Power, case fit and card-specific checks
NVIDIA lists total graphics power of 300 W for the Ti and 250 W for the 5070, with recommended system power of 750 W and 650 W respectively. Treat the system-power figures as guidance, then check the exact manufacturer’s product page for its power recommendation and required connectors. A power supply’s capacity alone does not confirm that it has the right connectors.
Physical fit also depends on the model. NVIDIA says RTX 5070 Ti dimensions vary by manufacturer; the RTX 5070 dimensions shown on its page apply to the Founders Edition, and partner cards may vary. Before buying, verify the selected card’s length, thickness, connector clearance and the available space in your case. Cooler design and noise are also model-specific, so consult reviews of the exact board where those factors matter.
Which card should you buy?
Choose the RTX 5070 if
- You want to spend less and the exact card is meaningfully cheaper than a comparable Ti.
- Your target is mainly 1440p and 12 GB of memory is adequate for your games and workloads.
- You prefer the lower listed graphics power and your system’s power budget makes that difference useful.
Choose the RTX 5070 Ti if
- You are willing to pay the actual price premium for the performance advantage shown in independent raster testing.
- You want more headroom for demanding settings, or plan to play at 4K with upscaling.
- You value 16 GB of memory over 12 GB for your intended games or workloads.
Before checkout, compare the exact models’ prices, benchmarks at your target resolution, PSU guidance and connectors, case dimensions, cooler reviews, warranty and return terms. That model-by-model check matters more than the launch-price gap alone.
