Roku lists the Streambar SE, Streambar, Streambar Pro, Roku Smart Soundbar, and onn. Roku Smart Soundbar as compatible. The Roku TV Wireless Soundbar also supports Bluetooth audio, but it is a separate product. Check your exact model before following the steps below, since features and setup can differ.
Which Roku soundbars support Bluetooth audio?
Roku’s Bluetooth pairing instructions list these soundbars for streaming audio from a compatible phone, tablet, or laptop:

The Roku TV Wireless Soundbar is another option: Roku says a Bluetooth-enabled phone, tablet, or computer can send music, podcasts, and other audio to it. It is a different product from the Roku Smart Soundbar, so do not assume every Roku audio product uses the same setup. See Roku’s Bluetooth compatibility and pairing guidance and its page on the Roku TV Wireless Soundbar.
If you are unsure which model you own, check the label on the device or its Roku settings before troubleshooting. Roku’s setup instructions identify the Roku Smart Soundbar as model 9101, the onn. Roku Smart Soundbar as model 9100, and the Streambar Pro as model 9101R2. These identifiers can help distinguish products, but the compatibility list above is the practical check for Bluetooth audio.

How to pair a phone, tablet, or computer
Set up the compatible Roku device first. Pairing information is saved, so you will generally only need to pair the sender once.
- On the Roku device, press Home.
- Open Settings > Remotes & devices > Smartphones & tablets > Add a new smartphone or tablet.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, tablet, or computer, then choose the Roku device from the discovered-device list.
- After it connects, start playing music, a podcast, or other audio on the sending device. Roku says the Bluetooth app on the Roku device launches automatically.
If it does not reconnect later, open Bluetooth settings on the sending device and select the Roku from its paired-device list. To stop playback, exit the Bluetooth app or disconnect the Roku in the sender’s Bluetooth settings. Roku’s complete steps are in How to turn on Bluetooth pairing and connect your phone to your Roku device.

What happens to TV sound while Bluetooth is playing?
Bluetooth audio from a phone, tablet, or computer takes priority over another active soundbar source while it is streaming. If you start listening from your phone, the soundbar will play that audio rather than the other source. Disconnect the sender or exit the Bluetooth app to stop the Bluetooth stream.
Bluetooth streaming to the soundbar is separate from the soundbar’s connection to your TV. Roku documents HDMI ARC for TV audio; when ARC is not used, its setup instructions describe using an optical connection. The right option depends on the ports on your television and soundbar. See Roku’s Streambar Pro and Smart Soundbar setup instructions for connection details.

Bluetooth audio and Headphone Mode are different
When you pair a phone or computer to a compatible soundbar, the audio plays through the soundbar. Headphone Mode sends audio to headphones instead. Roku documents the two features separately; pairing a phone with the soundbar is not a way to route sound to Bluetooth headphones. Check Roku’s Headphone Mode instructions if your goal is private listening.
Do you need Roku Wireless Speakers?
No. Roku Wireless Speakers are not required to stream phone audio through a compatible soundbar. They are an optional expansion for supported Roku hosts, including a Roku TV, Streambar, Streambar Pro, or Smart Soundbar. Roku also says the speakers can pair with a phone, tablet, or computer over Bluetooth. That is a separate way to play audio through the speakers rather than a prerequisite for using Bluetooth on the soundbar. See Roku’s Wireless Speakers setup instructions.
If pairing does not work
- Confirm the model. Use Roku’s supported-device list rather than assuming that every Roku soundbar has the same features.
- Check that setup is complete. Roku says a compatible device must be set up before Bluetooth streaming.
- Start pairing from the Roku menu. Go to Settings > Remotes & devices > Smartphones & tablets > Add a new smartphone or tablet, then select the Roku from the sender’s discovered devices.
- Try the saved pairing again. If the devices paired previously but do not reconnect, select the Roku from the sender’s paired-device list.
- Check the active source. Phone audio takes priority while it is streaming; stop or disconnect it if you want to return to another soundbar source.
For model-specific help, use Roku’s Bluetooth pairing support page and audio-source switching instructions.
