To link them, open Riot’s Xbox Game Pass welcome page, sign in with the Xbox profile you want to connect, then follow the prompts to connect an existing Riot Account or create a new one. Linking alone does not activate Game Pass benefits: the linked Xbox profile must have an active Game Pass membership, and benefits can take up to 24 hours to appear.
Before you link your accounts
- Choose the Xbox profile you intend to use. The welcome flow links that profile to a Riot Account.
- If you already have a Riot Account with game progress, use the account you want to keep using. Riot’s flow supports connecting an existing account or creating a new one.
- To receive member benefits, the connected Xbox profile must have an active Game Pass membership. Linking an account without an active membership does not qualify.
Riot says that when a linked Xbox profile has an active Game Pass membership, it shares gameplay data with Microsoft for accounting, internal reporting, business planning, and product improvement. Riot says disconnecting the Xbox profile stops this data sharing. See Riot’s benefits information for details.

How to link a Riot Account to Xbox Game Pass
- Open Riot’s Xbox Game Pass welcome page.
- Sign in with the Xbox profile you want connected. Check that you have selected the right profile before continuing.
- Follow the prompts to connect an existing Riot Account or create a new one. You may be asked to authenticate both the Riot Account and Xbox profile.
- When setup is complete, open Riot Account Management and select Connected Accounts. Check that your Xbox profile appears as connected and, if your membership is active, that the Game Pass member indicator is shown.
- Launch the relevant Riot game. Riot says an in-game message or notification appears when benefits unlock; activation may take up to 24 hours.
What to expect from Game Pass benefits
Benefits vary by game, and some may not be available in certain countries. Riot’s current benefits page describes game-specific offers, but the available benefits can change. Check the current Riot benefits page for the game and region you care about rather than assuming a benefit applies to every game or location.
If benefits are missing after linking
It has been less than 24 hours
Wait for the activation window, then relaunch the game. Riot says activation can take up to 24 hours and that a delay may be more likely just after activating a membership.

More than 24 hours have passed
First verify the connection and membership in Riot Account Management under Connected Accounts. If the Xbox profile is connected and the Game Pass member indicator applies but benefits still have not arrived, contact Riot Player Support. Riot also advises contacting support if benefits are missing more than 24 hours after playing in a new region or game.
Your membership expired or was restarted
Riot says benefits are lost when the membership expires. They can return if you start or reactivate the membership while the Xbox profile remains linked; changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect.

Sign-in and unlinking
Which sign-in method should you use?
If you first created your Riot Account using an Xbox profile, Riot says that profile is the primary sign-in method. You can configure other sign-in options in Account Management. If you linked Xbox to an existing Riot Account, you can continue using the sign-in methods already configured for that Riot Account.
How to unlink the Xbox profile
In Riot Account Management, open Connected Accounts and select the minus icon beside the connected Xbox profile. Disconnecting an active Game Pass link immediately removes Game Pass member benefits. Riot says disconnecting also stops the gameplay-data sharing described above.
