Nextiva has the lower advertised entry price in the current public displays, but that alone does not make it cheaper for your business. Nextiva shows Core at $15 per user per month; a September 24, 2026 comparison lists RingCentral Core at $20 per user per month with annual billing or $30 with monthly billing. The plans bundle different capabilities, and the final bill depends on the user count, contract term, usage, add-ons, taxes, and quote configuration. Compare matching plans and requirements before choosing.

RingCentral prices above are from Business.com’s comparison updated September 24, 2026. Nextiva prices and feature descriptions are from its small-business phone page reviewed October 5, 2026. The sources do not establish that all plans use the same billing conditions: Business.com gives RingCentral annual and monthly rates, while Nextiva displays promotional “save” pricing without making every term clear in the captured price section. How much do RingCentral and Nextiva cost?
On the displayed entry plans, Nextiva’s $15 per-user monthly Core price is lower than RingCentral Core’s $20 annual-billing rate or $30 monthly-billing rate. That is a comparison of advertised starting figures, not a guarantee of the price your business will pay. The RingCentral figures are from Business.com’s 2026 comparison; the Nextiva figure is shown on the provider’s current product page. Neither comparison settles the total cost for a particular team.

Seat count, contract length, calling and messaging usage, promotions, taxes, fees, add-ons, and required features can change the quote. Nextiva’s older feature-comparison PDF says prices are based on an annual commitment and warns that some setup, implementation, and usage fees may apply; it is not the authority for current plan names or prices. Ask for an itemized quote using the same user count, term, usage assumptions, and feature list for both providers. Nextiva’s feature-comparison PDF also notes that usage-based pricing may apply.

Which features differ most?
Call management, recording, and fax
In Business.com’s RingCentral plan comparison, Advanced is the tier where automatic call recording, internet fax, multisite management, and additional call monitoring and handling appear. Core already lists IVR and unlimited domestic calling. If recording, fax, or centralized management across locations is essential, confirm the exact plan and any limits in the quote rather than assuming an entry plan includes them.
Customer messaging and contact-center tools
Nextiva’s current plan descriptions move from Core voice and team communications to customer-facing functions in Engage, including customer-to-team SMS, toll-free number and minutes, inbound call-center features, live chat, and chatbot. Scale adds a broader customer-experience suite, including AI transcription and summaries, skills-based routing, and journey orchestration. Verify channel availability, usage limits, and whether any capability requires an add-on or qualifying plan.
Meetings and collaboration
RingCentral’s listed Core plan supports meetings with up to 100 participants, while Ultra raises that listed limit to 200 and adds HD video, whiteboards, and unlimited file sharing and storage. Nextiva Core lists video meetings, screen and file sharing, team chat, and a mobile app, but the cited current page does not provide a corresponding participant limit in the captured plan details. Compare actual meeting requirements instead of treating the feature names as equivalent.

Integrations and administration: check your exact workflow
RingCentral says its catalog has more than 330 integrations across 200-plus companies and that its plans expose API access. This is RingCentral’s own catalog claim, not an independent audit; a large catalog does not establish that your connector, workflow, or desired plan is included. Its published Advanced and Ultra descriptions also emphasize multisite management and analytics.
Nextiva materials name Salesforce, HubSpot, and Zendesk among integrations. The cited feature-comparison PDF warns that setup, implementation, and usage fees may apply to some features. For either provider, ask in writing whether the exact CRM or help-desk connector works on the proposed tier, what it supports, and whether configuration or usage costs extra. Which service fits different business needs?
A small team that mainly needs cloud calling
Start by comparing the actual entry-plan quote and checking whether its included calling, routing, messaging, meetings, and apps cover the team’s needs. Nextiva has the lower displayed starting figure in the sources reviewed, but it is not possible to declare it categorically cheaper without matched terms and a complete quote.

A business with multiple locations or specific app connections
RingCentral’s published plan descriptions and integration catalog may be relevant if administration across sites, analytics, APIs, or a broad range of app connections matter. Confirm the individual connector, its features, and tier eligibility; a catalog count does not guarantee a particular workflow.

A team that wants to avoid buying desk phones
Nextiva says its service works on desk phones, smartphones, and computers. The cited sources do not establish that either provider requires a desk-phone purchase; a softphone may meet your needs. Confirm device compatibility and provisioning with the vendor before buying hardware.

Does either provider offer a trial?
RingCentral’s official plans-and-pricing page says new subscribers can use a 14-day trial for up to 20 phone lines; SMS is unavailable during the trial. Business.com also lists a RingCentral paid-plan trial and says Nextiva offers a demo rather than a trial. Because signup terms can change, confirm availability and conditions directly before relying on a trial in your decision. RingCentral trial and pricing details.
Are desk phones included, or do you need to buy one?
Nextiva lists its X-835 twelve-line IP phone at $160 on its small-business phone page. Treat it as optional hardware, not a necessary part of the service: Nextiva also describes desktop and mobile app use, and the sources do not establish that either service requires desk phones. Confirm compatibility, provisioning, and any additional hardware costs before purchasing.

Send both providers the same requirements so you are comparing equivalent service rather than headline prices. Check these items against the written quote:
- Number of users and lines, billing term, and any minimum commitment.
- Domestic and international calling requirements.
- SMS/MMS volume, toll-free numbers, and included minutes.
- Call routing, queues, recording, monitoring, and fax requirements.
- Meeting participant limits, team messaging, and file-sharing needs.
- Your exact CRM and help-desk integrations, including which plan supports them.
- Analytics, AI features, and any usage or storage limits.
- Trial or demo availability, onboarding, setup, and implementation fees.
- Taxes, other fees, add-ons, and any usage-based charges.
- Desk-phone purchase, compatibility, and provisioning costs, if applicable.
What the published comparison cannot settle
The cited sources do not provide matched, independent evidence that one provider has better reliability or support quality. RingCentral’s own page advertises “99.999% reliable,” but the reviewed material does not provide comparable independent uptime data for Nextiva. Nor can a published integration list establish how well either service will handle a specific CRM workflow. Base those decisions on written commitments, relevant documentation, and a test of your actual requirements rather than treating marketing claims as independent findings.
