The trade-off is that you must start the installer through Revo’s monitoring workflow, and the feature does not trace Microsoft Store app installations. Revo’s documentation explains what the feature is designed to do, but does not establish that it is better than every alternative.
What Revo Pro tracks during an installation
Revo describes its Real-Time Installation Monitor as recording system changes made while a program installs and saving them in a trace log. That log is intended to support a more thorough removal later. This is different from simply checking which applications are already installed: the monitoring must be active during the installation. Revo’s product page describes the feature, while its trace instructions explain how to use it.

How to create a trace log
- Start the installer through Revo. Use the setup file’s Revo context-menu option, or the “Install Program with Revo Uninstaller Pro” command in Revo.
- Install the program while monitoring is active. Revo recommends tracing one installation at a time and avoiding other program activity during capture, so unrelated changes are less likely to be included.
- Complete monitoring and save the log. When installation is finished, stop the monitoring process and save the resulting trace log.
- Launch the installed program once if needed. Revo recommends doing this if the installer did not launch it, because the first run may create configuration data that the trace can capture.
These steps follow Revo’s official tracing guide. The extra setup is most worthwhile for a desktop program you expect may need a thorough uninstall later.
Where the trace workflow does not apply
Revo’s documentation says its tracing module cannot trace Microsoft Store app installations. For those apps, do not assume that starting a Store installation will produce a Revo trace log. The documented workflow is intended for installations that can be launched through Revo.

What to know about logs for programs already installed
If you did not create a trace while installing a program, Revo’s manual describes two relevant options: Traced Programs for logs created locally, and a Logs Database maintained by Revo’s team. A database entry may provide a log for an already-installed program, but check that it matches the program and version you have. Revo’s FAQ says a log for a different version may still be useful depending on how much the software changed; compatibility is not guaranteed for every version. See the Uninstaller manual and FAQ.
Is Revo Pro better than other ways to track installs?
The available official documentation supports a conditional recommendation, not a universal product ranking. Revo’s trace feature is a practical fit if you can route a standard desktop installation through its monitor and want a saved record for a later removal. Whether it is better than another approach depends on what that approach actually does: some tools may record changes during installation, while others only inventory installed programs afterward. The documented feature description alone does not establish comparative accuracy, removal success, or performance.
