Resemble AI announced a $13 million strategic funding round on December 7, 2025, saying the investment will help expand its global reach and develop its platform for detecting AI-generated and manipulated media. The company said the round brought its total venture funding to $25 million.

What Resemble AI announced

In its December 7, 2025 funding announcement, Resemble AI said the strategic round included Google’s AI Future Fund, Okta Ventures, Taiwania Capital, Gentree Fund, IAG Capital Partners, Berkeley Frontier Fund and KDDI. The company said it would use the funding to expand globally and continue developing its AI detection platform.

The announcement names Zohaib Ahmed as co-founder and CEO. Ahmed said the investment would accelerate the company’s effort to protect organizations from AI-generated threats, citing the rise of deepfake cyberattacks.

What Resemble AI’s detection platform does

Resemble AI markets enterprise software and API tools that assess audio, video and images for synthetic or manipulated content. Its product materials describe results that include a verdict and explanatory forensic context, and list cloud and on-premises deployment options. The company also describes integrations for organizations incorporating detection into existing systems.

Use in financial services

On its financial-sector page, Resemble AI describes detection for live calls and meetings, audit-oriented reports, on-premises deployment and SIEM integration. These are vendor-described capabilities; organizations evaluating them should confirm which features, integrations and deployment controls are available for their intended configuration.

Detection claims need context

Resemble AI’s current product page advertises up to 99.5% accuracy and testing against more than 250 generative AI models. Those are company-published claims, not independently verified results. The materials do not establish the test set, operating conditions or comparative performance needed to treat the headline accuracy as a guarantee for a particular organization or use case. Its Detect page also presents language coverage, benchmark rankings and attack coverage; buyers should review the underlying methodology and test conditions before relying on those figures.

Why the company is investing in detection

Resemble AI’s CEO described a strategic move from voice generation into detection in an August 13, 2026 company article. Ahmed’s account is that experience building voice models helps the company identify synthetic voices, and that the business has since expanded its detection work to video and images. This explains the company’s stated strategy, but it is not independent evidence of detector performance.

The funding announcement also cited $1.56 billion in deepfake-related fraud losses in 2025 and a forecast of up to $40 billion in U.S. fraud losses by 2027 associated with generative AI. Resemble AI supplied those figures, but the announcement does not establish their original publishers or methodologies. They are best read as figures cited by the company, not independently confirmed measurements or forecasts.

What the funding does—and does not—establish

The announcement establishes the amount Resemble AI said it raised, its stated total venture funding and its intended uses for the money. It does not by itself demonstrate that the platform prevents fraud, establish its performance against competing detectors or verify the threat-loss figures cited to support the market need. For organizations considering the software, the practical questions are whether its supported media types and workflows fit their threat model, whether its evidence is usable in investigations, and whether its deployment and integrations meet security and data-handling requirements.

The investor roster above follows the dated funding announcement. A separate company LinkedIn post surfaced with a different list, including Sony Innovation Fund and individual investors; the discrepancy has not been reconciled, so the lists should not be combined.
