Xiaomi India’s store listed the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G (6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage) at ₹25,999 and the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G (8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage) at ₹36,999 when checked on 7 October 2026. Subtracting the listed prices gives a ₹11,000 gap, with the Pro higher. These are live store prices for different RAM configurations, not a like-for-like price comparison; offers and listings can change. The Pro has the larger panel and the higher stated resolution: 6.83 inches at 1.5K, with a flat AMOLED design. The SE’s 6.77-inch OLED screen is curved. Both listings give a 120 Hz refresh rate, although Xiaomi describes the Pro as reaching up to 120 Hz. Choose based on whether you value the Pro’s size and resolution or prefer the SE’s curved form; the specifications alone do not establish which looks better in use.

What the camera specifications do—and do not—tell you
The Pro’s rear setup has two concrete listed advantages: optical image stabilization (OIS) on its 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide camera. Xiaomi lists a 50 MP main camera and an AI dual-camera system for the SE. The SE has the higher listed front-camera resolution, 20 MP versus 16 MP. Megapixel counts and feature lists do not prove which phone takes better photos or selfies; that requires comparable sample images or independent testing.
Battery capacity and charging on paper
Xiaomi lists a 9,000 mAh typical silicon-carbon battery and 67 W wired charging for the Pro, compared with 5,800 mAh and 45 W for the SE. The Pro also lists faster wired reverse charging: 22.5 W against 18 W. These ratings favor the Pro on paper, but they cannot establish real-world battery life or charging time without controlled testing.

Performance, memory, and software support
The SE lists a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while the Pro lists a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 built on a 4 nm process, with a maximum stated clock speed of 2.4 GHz. Chip names and clock figures are not a substitute for independent benchmarks, so they do not settle which phone is faster in everyday use or demanding applications.
Xiaomi lists LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage for the SE. For the Pro, the India specification page lists LPDDR4X memory, UFS 2.2 storage in the 128 GB version, and UFS 3.1 in the 256 GB version. It also lists dual speakers, a 67 W charger, USB-C, and a protective case in the package; contents can vary by market.

The SE page gives a specific support commitment: four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. The Pro page lists HyperOS 3 on Android 16 but does not state a comparable update duration, so the available specifications do not support a direct support-period comparison. The listed software versions are Android 15 for the SE and Android 16 for the Pro.

Choose the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G if
- You want the larger, higher-resolution flat display.
- You value OIS on the main rear camera and a dedicated ultrawide camera.
- You prioritize the higher listed battery capacity, charging power, and reverse-charging rate.
- You want the 8 GB RAM configuration shown in Xiaomi India’s observed listing.
Choose the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G if
- You want the lower observed India store price and are comfortable with the listed 6 GB RAM configuration.
- You prefer a curved screen.
- You value its higher listed front-camera resolution or Xiaomi’s stated update-support duration.
- You want the published IP66 and MIL-STD-810H claims, while checking the exact regional model and warranty terms.
Neither chipset, camera quality nor real battery endurance can be ranked confidently from these specifications alone. The price difference is also not a clean comparison of equivalent RAM configurations, and Xiaomi’s regional listings may differ. Confirm the exact model, memory option, price, warranty and specification page for the market where you plan to buy.
