On paper, the India Redmi Note 15 5G brings meaningful changes over the India Redmi Note 14 5G, including a newer listed processor, a slightly larger and brighter display, a 108MP OIS main camera, a larger battery, and longer stated software support. Those specifications do not prove better speed, photos, or battery life in everyday use. Whether it is worth buying depends on the live price for the same storage tier and the exact regional model.
Which Redmi Note 15 and Note 14 are being compared?
This comparison covers the India-market Redmi Note 14 5G and Redmi Note 15 5G. Redmi Note 14 and Redmi Note 15 are names used for multiple regional and network variants, so specifications and package contents should not be generalized to every model bearing those names. Xiaomi says network bands and box contents can vary by region.

Do the camera and display upgrades mean better results?
The Note 15’s India-listed main camera has 108MP resolution and OIS, compared with the Note 14’s 50MP Sony LYT-600 camera with OIS and EIS. That is a hardware difference, not a photo-quality verdict: the official specifications cited here do not provide a controlled comparison of image samples or establish which phone produces better pictures in different lighting.

The Note 15 also has a modestly larger display and a higher manufacturer-listed peak-brightness figure. Both India models list AMOLED panels with refresh rates up to 120Hz. A higher peak rating does not by itself establish how bright the screen stays in ordinary use, and the curved panel may be a matter of preference rather than an automatic improvement.
Will the Note 15 last longer between charges?
The India specifications list a 5520mAh battery for the Note 15 and 5110mAh for the Note 14, with 45W charging on both. The 410mAh capacity difference does not tell you how many extra hours either phone will last; comparable battery-endurance tests are not established by the official specifications.

Charger inclusion depends on the market. Xiaomi India says the Note 14 India package includes a 45W adapter, and its Note 15 India product page says a 45W charger is included. By contrast, Xiaomi Global’s Note 15 specifications page states, “No power adapter included in the box.” Check the exact regional package listing before assuming a charger comes with the phone.

How much longer is the Note 15’s stated software support?
Xiaomi India states two years of OS updates and four years of security updates for the Note 14 5G, compared with four years of OS updates and six years of security patches for the Note 15 5G. These are the published terms for the India pages; buyers elsewhere should confirm the applicable policy for their regional SKU.

Should you upgrade or buy the newer model?
If you already own the Note 14 5G
Consider upgrading if the Note 15’s listed display changes, main-camera resolution, larger battery capacity, or longer stated update period address a specific need—and the price difference is acceptable to you. Do not upgrade on the assumption that it will be faster, take better photos, or run longer without independent comparisons that test those outcomes.
If you are choosing between them as a new phone
There is no supported value winner without current, like-for-like prices and stock for the same region and storage tier. Compare those prices, then weigh the Note 15’s listed changes against any Note 14 advantages you care about, such as its headphone jack or dedicated macro camera. Check local warranty, network bands, charger contents, and update terms for the exact model before ordering.
