What the differences mean in everyday use
Display: bigger and curved, or smaller and flat
The Note 15 SE’s screen is 0.10 inches larger diagonally and has a curved design. Xiaomi also lists a higher peak-brightness figure for it. The Note 14 5G has a flat screen, which may suit people who prefer a conventional display shape. Peak brightness is a manufacturer specification; it does not establish how bright either phone will appear in every situation.

Performance: different chipsets, no verified winner
The phones use different platforms: MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra in the Note 14 5G and Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in the Note 15 SE. The published specifications do not establish which is faster in real applications, gaming or sustained workloads. Do not treat the newer model name or the 4nm process listed for the Snapdragon as a substitute for a directly comparable performance test.
Cameras: OIS is a concrete distinction, not a photo verdict
Xiaomi specifies OIS on the Note 14 5G’s main camera. That is a hardware distinction, but it does not by itself establish which phone takes better photos or video. Xiaomi lists a 2MP depth camera on the Note 15 SE, while the Note 14 5G’s listed rear setup includes an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera in addition to its main camera. Battery and charging: capacity is not endurance
The Note 15 SE lists 5800mAh typical capacity, compared with 5110mAh for the Note 14 5G. That is a capacity comparison, not a battery-life test: screen use, connectivity, software and other conditions affect runtime. Xiaomi lists 45W charging for both, and its pages say the adapter or charger is included. Actual charging performance can vary with conditions.
Software, storage and protection
The India product pages state HyperOS on Android 14 for the Note 14 5G, alongside Xiaomi’s commitment of two years of OS updates and four years of security updates. The Note 15 SE product page states HyperOS 3 on Android 15; the cited product information does not provide a matching update-duration commitment. Xiaomi lists two Note 14 5G memory configurations and three for the Note 15 SE, including a 6GB RAM option on the latter. For water and dust protection, check the exact retail variant: Xiaomi’s Note 15 SE pages state IP65/IP66 with a qualification, while the Note 14 5G is listed as IP64. An IP rating is not a promise that a phone is damage-proof.

Price difference: what Xiaomi’s listing establishes
Xiaomi India’s official store result showed the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G from ₹25,999, with a crossed-out marketing price of ₹34,999 when the result was captured. These are time-sensitive listing figures; the starting price may depend on configuration or an offer. Xiaomi’s Note 14 5G product and buy pages were available, but no verifiable current price for it was established alongside that listing. Therefore, a numerical price gap cannot be calculated from comparable prices.
For a fair comparison, check the transaction price for the same market and date, and match memory configurations where possible. Separate the displayed price from coupons, bank discounts, exchange offers and marketplace deals; they can change the amount paid without changing the phone’s listed specification.
Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Note 15 SE 5G if you want the larger curved display, the higher listed battery capacity, a Snapdragon platform, or a 6GB+128GB configuration. Its specifications do not prove longer battery life or faster performance in practice.
- Consider the Note 14 5G if you prefer a flat display or value the listed OIS-equipped Sony main camera and ultrawide camera. Those hardware details are not a guarantee of better overall image quality.
- Decide on value only after checking live prices. Xiaomi’s captured starting listing for the Note 15 SE does not supply a same-date comparison price for an equivalent Note 14 5G configuration.
Before ordering, confirm that the listing is for the India Redmi Note 14 5G rather than another regional Redmi Note 14, and verify the exact storage, color, protection variant and in-box charger details on the seller’s current product page.
