The Redmi Note 17 5G has the larger screen and battery, while the Redmi Note 14 5G offers a more flexible rear-camera setup and weighs less. This comparison uses Xiaomi’s Germany specification sheet for the Redmi Note 14 5G and its Chile sheet for the Redmi Note 17 5G; regional versions can differ. The title’s “Redmi Note 14” therefore refers specifically to the 5G model, not every phone sold under the Note 14 name.

Which phone has the better display and battery?

The Note 17 5G is the larger-screen option: its listed 6.99-inch display is 0.32 inches larger than the Note 14 5G’s 6.67-inch panel. Both are AMOLED screens rated up to 120Hz. The listed resolutions are close, but the Note 17’s larger panel has slightly fewer pixels vertically, so the figures do not make it a sharper screen.

Xiaomi lists a 7,700mAh typical-capacity battery for the Note 17 5G, compared with 5,110mAh for the Note 14 5G. That is a substantial capacity difference on paper, but it does not establish how many hours either phone lasts: actual endurance depends on use and conditions, and these specifications are not a comparable battery-life test. Both regional sheets list 45W charging, so the stated charging wattage does not separate them.

Which has the better cameras?

The Note 14 5G has the more versatile listed rear-camera hardware: a 108MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus ultrawide and macro cameras. Xiaomi’s cited Note 17 5G page lists a 50MP main camera and no ultrawide or macro module. That makes the Note 14 the more flexible choice for switching rear-camera perspectives, based on the listed modules.

The Note 14 also lists a higher-resolution front camera, 20MP versus 16MP. These figures do not prove which phone takes better-looking photos or video: megapixel counts alone are not a quality test, and no comparable independent camera test is established here.

How much more does the Redmi Note 17 5G cost?

Available India listings provide an indicative comparison, not a like-for-like checkout price. Gadgets 360 reported the Redmi Note 14 5G with 8GB/128GB at ₹19,999 as its lowest Amazon price on 6 October 2026. Xiaomi India and 91mobiles listed the Note 17 5G at ₹27,999; the 91mobiles listing was for 6GB/128GB. The arithmetic difference is ₹8,000, but the memory configurations differ and the listings may change. Check current price, stock, and configuration before buying.

For context within a different market, Cinco Días reported Spain launch-market prices on 17 September 2026 of €349.99 for the Note 17 5G with 6GB/128GB, €379.99 for 6GB/256GB, and €399.99 for 8GB/256GB. These Spain prices are not directly comparable with India’s Note 14 listing.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the Redmi Note 17 5G if

  • You want the larger 6.99-inch screen.
  • You prioritize the larger stated battery capacity.
  • You are considering a 6GB/128GB or 6GB/256GB configuration listed on Xiaomi Chile’s page and can confirm the version sold in your market.

Choose the Redmi Note 14 5G if

  • You want an ultrawide and macro camera in addition to the main camera.
  • Optical stabilization on the listed 108MP main camera matters to you.
  • You prefer the lighter listed weight: 190g rather than 225g.
  • You want the higher listed selfie-camera resolution or a memory/storage option up to 12GB/512GB on Xiaomi Germany’s specification sheet.

Before deciding, compare the exact regional model, memory configuration, and live price available to you. The specification sheets come from different countries, and their listed configurations should not be assumed to represent every market.
