A pre-release benchmark listing was reported to show a European Redmi Note 12 5G sample running Android 12. That is a useful clue about a device Xiaomi was testing, but it does not establish the final European retail specifications, launch date, or software version. The available listing details do not verify the model number, chipset, memory, benchmark score, or MIUI build.
What the test listing establishes—and what it does not
The report points to a Redmi Note 12 5G sample associated with a European variant and identifies Android 12 as its operating system. The available record is not detailed enough to confirm whether “European” described the intended sales region or was simply a label attached to the test device. Nor does it provide a verifiable model number, test date, benchmark version, RAM configuration, score, or Xiaomi firmware build.
That distinction matters: a benchmark database can show that a sample was tested, but it is not an announcement of European availability. It also cannot establish that every retail unit will use the tested hardware or software. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 global product page is the appropriate place to check product information if it remains available for the buyer’s region: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G.
Android 12 is not the same as MIUI 12
Android 12 is the underlying Android operating-system version identified on the test sample. MIUI is Xiaomi’s separate software interface and versioning system; the Android number should not be mistaken for a MIUI release number. No MIUI build is established by the available benchmark details.

A pre-release sample may run engineering firmware that changes before sale. The listing therefore does not prove that the phone launched with Android 12, what version a particular region received at launch, or what updates a buyer can install now. Xiaomi’s support portal is the place to look for official support information: Xiaomi Global Support.
The chipset and performance remain unverified
The evidence available here does not identify the European sample’s chipset. Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, MediaTek Dimensity 810, or another platform should not be presented as confirmed without the original benchmark entry or a reliable specification source tied to the exact model. A processor name inferred from a device codename would also need to be labeled as an inference.

No score is available to interpret or compare. Even a verified single benchmark result would describe one run on one software and hardware configuration—not sustained performance, gaming behavior, thermals, battery life, or camera quality. Geekbench’s searchable result database is at Geekbench Browser, but a matching record would need to be tied to the exact handset and test version before its figures could support a comparison.
Why European and Chinese versions should not be assumed identical
“Redmi Note 12 5G” can refer to regional configurations. Without a confirmed model number and matched official specifications, a direct European-versus-Chinese comparison would risk treating unknowns as facts.

For a buyer considering an import, check the exact model number rather than relying on the family name. Regional differences can affect 5G and LTE bands, Google services, language support, NFC behavior, warranty, charging plug, and software-update path. A carrier compatibility checker can help confirm network support, but the relevant tool depends on the country and carrier.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the listing means for launch and buyers today
The listing alone does not confirm a European launch, date, price, final product name, carrier compatibility, or Xiaomi update commitment. Redmi Note 12 models were part of Xiaomi’s broader 2022–2023 launch and leak cycle; for example, Notebookcheck’s archive records contemporaneous Redmi Note 12 coverage. That context does not fill in the missing details for this particular European sample.

For anyone evaluating the phone now, the benchmark is historical evidence, not a current buying guide. Check local availability and warranty, the device’s exact regional variant, carrier-band compatibility, and the current software support information before buying. For a used handset, also assess battery condition. No current price or present-day support status is established by the test report.
