For a standard Philips Hue Bridge, connect it to a LAN port on your new router with an Ethernet cable. You do not enter the new Wi-Fi password on the Bridge: it connects to the router by Ethernet, while your phone reaches it over your home network. Philips says a router or internet-provider change does not require setting up the existing Bridge again because its settings are stored on the Bridge.
Check which Hue Bridge you have

Reconnect the standard Bridge
- Leave the existing Bridge and Hue setup in place; do not remove the system or factory-reset the Bridge for a routine router swap.
- Connect the Bridge’s Ethernet cable to a LAN port on the new router and make sure the Bridge is powered.
- Connect your phone to the home network served by the new router, then open the Hue app and check whether your existing system is available.
Philips says the Bridge stores its settings, so changing internet providers or replacing a router does not by itself require setup again. Philips Hue Bridge product page

If the Hue app cannot find the Bridge
- Confirm that your phone is on the home network from the new router, rather than a different network.
- Check that the Bridge is powered and its Ethernet connection runs to the new router.
- If the app asks you to add a Bridge, follow the app’s on-screen setup. Philips’ setup guide describes adding a Bridge in the Hue app, scanning its QR code, and following the displayed steps. That is an available setup route, not a requirement for every router change. Philips Hue Bridge setup guide
If those checks do not restore access, consult Philips Hue support for your Bridge model and the state of your app before resetting. The published guidance does not establish one universal router-change recovery sequence.

Do not factory-reset it as the first fix
A factory reset deletes saved Hue settings, so it can turn a simple router reconnection into a fresh setup. Philips recommends trying to reconnect or soft-reset the Bridge before a factory reset. If a reset is necessary, follow Philips Hue’s current reset instructions and be prepared to set up the system again.
