As of August 18, 2026, the P4 5G remains a performance-and-battery-focused option, but its value depends on the exact RAM/storage variant, current stock and discounts.

Launch reporting placed the phone’s starting price at about ₹18,499. Bank-card discounts, exchange benefits and other launch promotions could reduce the effective amount, which is why ₹17,499 appeared in some references. Those figures are not interchangeable.

How the dual-chip gaming system works
The Dimensity 7400 Ultra handles normal processing and graphics. The separate Hyper Vision AI chip is intended to assist frame interpolation, image clarity and video processing in compatible modes.

realme claims up to 300% improvements in frame rate and resolution in supported scenarios, including 1080p/144fps output, and cites a 778,000-plus AnTuTu score and seven hours of BGMI at 144fps in its own testing. These are manufacturer or laboratory claims, not guarantees for every game. Frame interpolation is also different from a game being rendered natively at 144 frames per second; compatibility, latency and visual artefacts depend on the title, software version and selected mode.

Display: fast AMOLED, but not a 1.5K panel
The flat 6.77-inch AMOLED panel can run at up to 144Hz, making supported games and scrolling look smoother than on a 60Hz screen. It remains an FHD+ display rather than a 1.5K or QHD panel.
The advertised 4,500-nit value is a peak figure measured under specific conditions, not sustained full-screen outdoor brightness. Independent review coverage also noted possible oversharpening and display-processing issues, so buyers should judge the screen by actual use rather than the peak number alone. Endurance is the P4 5G’s clearest advantage on paper. The cell is rated at 6,830mAh, while 7,000mAh is the typical-capacity marketing figure. It supports 80W wired charging, 10W reverse charging and bypass charging intended to reduce battery stress during supported gaming sessions.
realme claims up to 27.8 hours of video playback and 15% charge in five minutes in specified laboratory tests. Network signal, brightness, refresh rate, gaming load, temperature and battery age determine real-world results. A large battery can also affect the phone’s size and weight despite realme’s 185g claim.

Camera expectations
The rear setup combines a 50MP main camera with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and AI-assisted imaging features. Review coverage describes it as adequate rather than class-leading, with detail and low-light results behind the strongest camera-focused alternatives in this price segment. Choose the P4 5G primarily for gaming, endurance and display smoothness—not photography.

Software, memory and durability caveats
Dynamic RAM is not physical RAM
The advertised “18GB RAM” combines physical memory with storage-assisted dynamic RAM. It does not perform like a phone containing 18GB of physical RAM, and available capacity depends on the selected variant and software.
Android 15 at launch
The phone shipped with Android 15. The current software build, update policy and bundled-app load should be checked before purchase because these can change over time; review coverage identified bundled-app concerns.
IP65/IP66 is resistance, not waterproofing
The ratings indicate laboratory-tested protection against dust and specified water exposure. They do not make the handset waterproof, and liquid damage may not be covered after drops, repairs or ageing.

Should you buy the realme P4 5G in 2026?
Buy it when the current price is competitive and your priorities are endurance, fast charging, gaming performance, a high-refresh AMOLED display and stereo audio. It is particularly sensible if a promotion brings a higher-storage variant close to the segment’s ₹15,000–₹20,000 range.
Look elsewhere if your priorities are the best cameras, a compact design, a higher-resolution panel, wireless charging or a cleaner software experience. Also compare the current prices of the realme P4 Pro 5G, P4 Lite 5G and P4 Power 5G; they are different products, and a small price gap may justify a newer or higher-tier model.
Do not buy solely because an old headline says ₹17,499. Verify the exact variant, seller, discount conditions and live stock at checkout.
