DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo Plus with DJI RC 2: What’s Included and Is It Worth It?

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo Plus with DJI RC 2 is an accessories-and-battery bundle built around the Mini 4 Pro—not a different “Mini 4 Pro Plus” aircraft. It includes three higher-capacity Intelligent Flight Battery Plus batteries and a screen-equipped controller. DJI rates each Plus battery for up to 45 minutes in controlled testing, but the added weight takes the aircraft over 249 grams. If keeping the Mini in its lightest, under-249-gram configuration matters more than longer flights, choose the standard-battery Fly More Combo instead.

What is the Fly More Combo Plus?

“Plus” refers primarily to the battery type. The aircraft remains the DJI Mini 4 Pro, and the controller in this bundle is the DJI RC 2. DJI’s bundle announcement lists three Intelligent Flight Battery Plus units. The important distinction is that a Plus battery provides more capacity and flight time, but changes the aircraft’s weight category.

  • DJI Mini 4 Pro: the aircraft model.
  • Fly More Combo: the aircraft bundled with accessories and three standard batteries.
  • Fly More Combo Plus: the aircraft bundled with accessories and three Intelligent Flight Battery Plus batteries.
  • DJI RC 2: the remote controller with a built-in display.

What’s in the box—and what may be missing?

DJI’s published bundle contents include:

  • DJI Mini 4 Pro aircraft
  • DJI RC 2 remote controller
  • Three Intelligent Flight Battery Plus units
  • Two-way charging hub
  • Shoulder bag
  • Three pairs of spare propellers, with screws
  • Gimbal protector and propeller holder
  • Screwdriver
  • USB-C cable and USB-C-to-USB-C PD cable

A microSD card, wall charger, ND filters, wide-angle lens, hard-shell case, propeller guards, landing pad, and DJI Care coverage are not listed as standard contents. The aircraft has 2 GB of internal storage, so video users should plan for a compatible microSD card. DJI recommends its 30W USB-C charger or another compatible USB Power Delivery charger; the bundle’s cables and hub do not necessarily include a wall adapter. The hub charges batteries in sequence rather than all three simultaneously. See DJI’s Mini 4 Pro specifications for storage and charging details.

Bundle contents can differ on marketplace listings. Before ordering, check that the seller identifies the Plus batteries, RC 2, exact model, condition, warranty terms, and return policy—not merely the product title.

The prices above are DJI U.S. store observations, not guaranteed current prices or availability. The $60 difference is the observed gap between those listings. Check the Plus bundle page and standard bundle page for current listing status.

The 249-gram catch: Plus batteries put the aircraft over the threshold

DJI specifies the Mini 4 Pro at under 249 grams with the standard battery, propellers, and a microSD card. DJI also explicitly says the aircraft weighs more than 249 grams with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus. In other words, the under-249-gram claim applies to the standard-battery configuration, not to the Plus configuration supplied in this bundle. DJI lists the standard battery at approximately 77.9 g and 2,590 mAh (18.96 Wh), versus approximately 121 g and 3,850 mAh (28.4 Wh) for the Plus battery. DJI’s specifications provide the battery and aircraft qualifications.

DJI says the heavier Plus-battery configuration can reduce propulsion performance and instructs users not to add payloads such as propeller guards or third-party accessories when flying with it. That warning matters if you planned to add equipment: extra endurance does not mean the aircraft has spare lift capacity. Consult DJI’s Mini 4 Pro support guidance before changing the configuration.

What U.S. registration rules apply?

For recreational flying in the United States, the FAA requires registration for drones weighing 250 grams (0.55 lb) or more. Part 107 drones must be registered regardless of weight. Registered drones must generally comply with Remote ID, subject to applicable exceptions, and recreational flyers must pass the TRUST test. The Plus-battery configuration exceeds 249 grams, so do not assume it qualifies for the recreational weight exemption. The rules depend on the aircraft’s actual configuration and how it is operated, not just its product name.

This is U.S.-specific guidance, not a legal conclusion for other countries. DJI says the Plus battery is not sold in Europe, and local rules and product availability vary by jurisdiction. Check the aviation authority where you will fly.

How much flight time do three Plus batteries really provide?

DJI’s published maximums are up to 45 minutes of flight or 39 minutes of hovering per Plus battery. The standard battery is rated for up to 34 minutes of flight or 30 minutes of hovering. DJI measures flight time under controlled conditions until forced landing due to battery depletion; these figures are not a promise of usable filming time. Wind, temperature, fast maneuvers, obstacle avoidance, camera use, and a conservative return-and-landing reserve all affect how long a real flight can safely last. Full test qualifications are on DJI’s specifications page.

The often-quoted 135 minutes is simply three batteries multiplied by DJI’s 45-minute maximum. It is the theoretical sum of three separate flights—not continuous airtime—and excludes landing, battery swaps, setup, reserve time, and charging. The charging hub replenishes the batteries in sequence, so a full day’s operation still involves downtime unless you have another charging plan.

What the DJI RC 2 changes

The RC 2 has a built-in screen, so you do not need to attach a phone for ordinary flight control. That makes setup simpler, avoids using your phone’s battery during flight, and keeps calls or notifications from interrupting the flight display. Its trade-offs are added cost, weight, charging, and another device to keep updated.

The alternative RC-N2 controller depends on a connected smartphone. It can suit pilots who prefer a phone-based workflow or want a lower-cost controller configuration, but requires a compatible phone and its battery. DJI lists both the RC 2 and RC-N2 as supported controllers for the Mini 4 Pro in its FAQ. The RC 2 changes the control experience; it does not improve the aircraft’s camera or image quality.

What the Mini 4 Pro can do

The Mini 4 Pro’s appeal is not limited to its battery options. DJI advertises 4K/60 fps HDR video, true vertical shooting, omnidirectional obstacle sensing, and ActiveTrack 360°. DJI also lists a maximum FHD video transmission distance of 20 km under the relevant test and regional conditions. That is a manufacturer maximum, not a normal operating distance: terrain, interference, local frequency rules, battery reserves, and legal visual-line-of-sight requirements constrain real flights. See the DJI product listing for advertised capabilities and the specifications for conditions.

Omnidirectional sensing and automated tracking can help, but they are not collision insurance. Wires, branches, low-contrast objects, poor lighting, reflections, and unusual surroundings can still create hazards. The pilot remains responsible for evaluating the route and maintaining control; automation does not replace judgment or legal compliance.

Who should buy the Plus bundle?

  • Travel creators and hikers: three higher-capacity batteries and the carry bag can be useful when returning to a charging point is inconvenient.
  • Property and location shooters: longer rated battery endurance may make repeated takes easier, provided the heavier configuration and applicable operating rules suit the job.
  • New pilots who want a dedicated screen: the RC 2 avoids phone mounting and phone-dependent control.
  • Existing Mini 4 Pro owners: it is less compelling as a second bundle unless the Plus batteries and RC 2 are specifically what you need; confirm compatibility and the value of duplicating accessories before buying.

Skip it if your main reason for choosing a Mini is the under-249-gram standard-battery configuration, if you do not need three batteries and a dedicated controller, or if you want a larger aircraft for stronger wind performance or a different camera class.

Alternatives to consider

Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo with RC 2

This is the closest alternative: the same aircraft and screen controller, but with standard batteries. DJI’s U.S. store listing showed $1,099 and out-of-stock status when retrieved. Choose it when the lighter standard-battery configuration matters more than the Plus battery’s longer maximum rating. Check the standard Fly More Combo listing for current availability.

Mini 4 Pro with RC-N2

A phone-dependent controller configuration may cost less and suit people who already own a compatible phone. It gives up the RC 2’s built-in display convenience. DJI’s controller FAQ describes the supported options.

DJI Air-series drone

Consider an Air-series model if stronger wind capability, a larger aircraft, or more advanced camera options matter more than Mini-series portability. It is a different product class, not a direct substitute for a compact drone. The available comparison listing placed an Air 3 Fly More Combo with RC 2 above the Mini 4 Pro’s price level, but check current specifications and pricing before deciding: Crutchfield’s product page.

Newer Mini models

DJI’s lineup and retailer inventory can change. No complete, verified current specification and price comparison is established here for newer Mini models, so compare the current DJI product pages directly rather than assuming a newer model is automatically a better fit.

First-flight setup checklist

  1. Charge the aircraft, RC 2, and batteries with a suitable USB-PD power source.
  2. Install or update DJI Fly, then activate the aircraft and pair it with the controller.
  3. Update the app, aircraft, controller, and battery firmware; DJI’s support page covers updates. If an update fails, check charge levels, keep power connected, maintain the network connection, and avoid switching away from the app during download.
  4. Before takeoff, check compass, GNSS, obstacle-sensing, and return-to-home status, and confirm the planned route and local flight requirements.
  5. Use an open area for a short test flight before depending on the aircraft for a paid assignment.
