The iQOO 15R lists the stronger chipset and the larger battery, with 100 W wired charging. The realme 16 Pro+ 5G lists more rear-camera hardware, including a telephoto lens the iQOO page does not show, plus a larger display and 80 W charging. Which one is the better buy depends on whether processor tier and battery rating or camera versatility matters more to you. The price gap cannot be stated as a fixed figure, because listed prices differ between sources and change often.
Hardware figures below come from each manufacturer’s India specification page. Manufacturer ratings are not test results, and the sections below say where that limits what you can conclude.

Processor: a tier difference on paper
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 sits above the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in Qualcomm’s naming, and that is the main hardware gap between the two phones. A higher-tier chipset generally points to more headroom for demanding games, heavy multitasking and on-device AI workloads. It does not show how either phone performs for you. Sustained performance depends on thermal design, power limits and software tuning, and none of those were measured in the sources used here.

Cameras: more lenses on the realme, a named sensor on the iQOO
The realme 16 Pro+ 5G lists three rear cameras: a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP telephoto with optical image stabilisation (OIS), and an 8 MP ultra-wide. The telephoto is the notable addition. A dedicated telephoto lens gives tighter optical framing for portraits and distant subjects, which the iQOO 15R’s listed rear setup does not offer.
The iQOO 15R lists a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide. Its product overview identifies the main sensor as a Sony LYT-700V with OIS. Sensor identity is useful information, but lens tuning, processing and low-light behaviour matter as much as the hardware.

- The larger 6.9-inch display enhances productivity and media consumption, giving extra room for multitasking, side-by-side apps, and immersive viewing without feeling unwieldy in hand.
- Camera improvements focus on ultra-wide performance, capturing more detail at the edges of the frame and reducing distortion, making landscape shots, group photos, and architecture photography cleaner.
- Refined gesture controls and haptic feedback make interactions feel more precise, so scrolling, tapping, or switching between apps is smoother and more satisfying compared to previous Plus models.
- Audio enhancements optimize speaker output for spatial awareness, delivering clearer separation between instruments and voices in music, video playback, and FaceTime calls without relying on headphones.
- Durable yet lightweight materials balance heft and portability, with a subtly textured back and reinforced edges that improve grip while maintaining the premium appearance expected from the Plus series.
Megapixel counts are a poor guide. A 200 MP sensor typically delivers its full resolution only in specific modes, and the listing does not say how the phone handles that. Judge the two camera systems from independent image samples taken under the same conditions; none are part of the evidence behind this comparison.
On the front, both official pages list 50 MP for the selfie camera. A third-party comparison page showed a 32 MP front camera for the iQOO 15R, which conflicts with the official parameter page, so the 50 MP figure is the one to rely on.

Display: a slightly larger screen on the realme, and a refresh figure to check
The realme’s 17.27 cm AMOLED panel is about 6.8 inches, slightly larger than the iQOO 15R’s 6.59-inch AMOLED. The iQOO’s own pages give two refresh figures. The parameter page lists 130 Hz as the normal-scene touch refresh rate, while the product overview advertises a 1.5K, 144 Hz display.
The likely explanation is that the figures describe different modes or marketing contexts rather than two different panels, though the listings do not spell this out. Do not assume one refresh rate applies in every situation. After you buy, check the display settings to see which refresh modes are available.

Battery and charging: ratings, not endurance
The iQOO 15R lists a 7600 mAh typical battery and 100 W maximum wired charging. The realme 16 Pro+ 5G lists 7000 mAh and 80 W. The iQOO’s figures are higher on both counts.

Price difference: what the available figures can and cannot show
One Gadgets Now comparison page showed approximately ₹50,499 for the realme 16 Pro+ and ₹53,999 for the iQOO 15R. Other renderings of the same comparison showed different numbers. These are not official manufacturer prices, and they may reflect list prices, offer prices, different variants or page updates made at different times. The gap in that one snapshot should not be treated as a current difference.
To work out the real difference, follow these steps:
- Choose the exact RAM and storage pair you want. Both phones come in 8 GB and 12 GB RAM, but their storage tiers differ, so a gap between different storage tiers says little about the phones themselves.
- Open the live listing for each phone on the same day, from the same seller, and record the selling price shown on the product page.
- Separate the list price (the crossed-out or MRP figure) from the offer price you would actually pay.
- Note bank, card or exchange offers separately. They change the effective price but depend on your card, your old phone and the seller’s terms, so they are not a fair basis for comparing base prices.
- Check the date on each listing and compare again just before you buy, because both prices move.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the iQOO 15R if you want the higher-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 listing, the bigger battery rating and 100 W charging, and you do not need a telephoto lens. Its 256 GB base storage also suits buyers who keep many photos and apps.
- Choose the realme 16 Pro+ 5G if camera flexibility matters more, especially the 50 MP telephoto, or if you prefer a slightly larger screen and a 128 GB entry storage option. Its 80 W charging is still fast on paper, but it is slower than the iQOO’s rated 100 W.
- If the price gap is small on the day you buy, decide on the features you will actually use. The chipset and battery figures favour the iQOO, while the camera and screen size favour the realme.
Confirm the exact model name before you buy, including the “5G” suffix on the realme, since shopping sites often compare the two phones under slightly different names.
