The realme 13 5G is worth considering if you prioritise a long-lasting battery, a capable daylight main camera and stereo audio. Its 6.72-inch 120Hz screen is LCD rather than AMOLED, however, and a 2024 review noted occasional scrolling lag. Whether it makes sense to buy now depends heavily on the price of your exact storage variant.

What the realme 13 5G does well
Battery life for a full day
Dhruv Joshi’s 91mobiles review, published 5 September 2024, describes battery backup as excellent and says it should last most users a day. The review passage does not provide a standardized runtime test, so that is a reviewer assessment rather than a measured hours figure.

Main-camera daylight results
The 50MP primary camera includes optical image stabilisation (OIS). In the 91mobiles review, daylight images showed decent detail and dynamic range. The reviewer also found useful detail in low-light images, while noting grain in darker areas. The 2MP monochrome sensor is a secondary camera; the review’s more substantive camera praise is for the main sensor.

Stereo audio and practical connections
The review praises the phone’s audio and notes stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Those features give it practical appeal if you use wired headphones or want stereo sound without an accessory.

A 120Hz refresh rate
The display can refresh at up to 120Hz, which can make compatible interface animations and scrolling appear smoother than on a lower-refresh-rate panel. That benefit does not change the panel’s underlying LCD technology or the reviewer’s concerns about brightness and multimedia compared with OLED rivals.
Where the realme 13 5G falls short
LCD instead of AMOLED
The 6.72-inch display is an FHD+ IPS LCD, not AMOLED or OLED. 91mobiles reports 580 nits peak brightness and judged the screen less compelling outdoors and for multimedia than OLED alternatives. Its review also compared that peak figure with 950 nits for the preceding model, calling the panel a brightness downgrade. If vivid contrast and easier outdoor viewing are high priorities, this is the clearest compromise.

Everyday smoothness is not flawless
The Dimensity 6300 is suited to routine tasks, but the 91mobiles reviewer reported occasional lag while scrolling through Instagram or YouTube comment feeds. That observation is from the 2024 review, not a current independent test; it suggests that buyers who are sensitive to interface stutters should compare real-world performance rather than choosing on the processor name alone.
Value depends on the price you actually pay
At its India launch in August 2024, Mint reported prices of ₹17,999 for 8GB/128GB and ₹19,999 for 8GB/256GB. Those are historical launch prices, not today’s offers. Gadgets 360’s product-page snapshot dated 4 October 2026 listed configurations in a range from ₹23,999 to ₹29,499; seller and price can change, so verify the listing and exact memory variant before buying.

The difference matters because 91mobiles’ 2024 review found the phone’s price high for what it offered, especially against rivals with OLED screens or comparable performance. That was a launch-era comparison, not a current ranking. At a substantially lower local price, battery, camera and audio strengths may outweigh the LCD and occasional lag; at the listed 2026 snapshot range, compare alternatives carefully before deciding.
How it compared with rivals in the 2024 review
In its September 2024 comparison discussion, 91mobiles named the Moto G85, Redmi 13 5G and iQOO Z9x. The review said the Moto G85 offered an OLED display, the Redmi 13 5G matched performance and did better in selfies at lower launch-era pricing, and the iQOO Z9x outperformed the realme at a lower price. These are historical judgments and prices, not evidence of which phone is the best buy in 2026.

For a current comparison, match the same RAM and storage configuration and check local availability and selling price. Then weigh:
- Display technology and brightness, not refresh rate alone.
- Observed everyday and gaming performance.
- Main-camera and selfie-camera results.
- Battery capacity and charging support for the exact regional model.
- The price of the same memory configuration at the seller you intend to use.
Verdict: should you buy the realme 13 5G?
In his 5 September 2024 review, Dhruv Joshi gave the realme 13 5G 7.4/10 and concluded that it was worth considering for buyers who valued battery life and cameras, while flagging the lack of AMOLED and pricing. That remains a useful description of the phone’s trade-offs, but it is not a fresh verdict on 2026 prices or software behaviour.
Consider it if you find the base India 5G model at a price that makes its battery, OIS-equipped main camera, stereo speakers and headphone jack more important to you than an OLED screen. Look elsewhere if display quality is a priority, you want consistently smooth scrolling, or similarly priced phones available in your market offer a better balance. Before paying, confirm that the listing is for realme 13 5G—not realme 13+ 5G or realme 13 4G—and verify the RAM/storage variant and charging specification for that regional model.
