The Razer Prio’s clearest advantage is how little space it takes up: it folds to about wallet size and weighs 101 g, according to Android Central’s hands-on review. Its iPhone credentials, however, are not established by that review, which tested it with Android phones. Treat it as a promising pocket-sized USB-C controller, not a confirmed iPhone pick, until compatibility with your exact phone is verified.
What makes the Razer Prio different?
The Prio is a folding USB-C mobile controller designed to travel more easily than a conventional phone gamepad. Android Central reviewer Nicholas Sutrich reported that it folds down to roughly half its extended size, with the controls protected when folded. He described it as about the size of a standard wallet and comfortable to carry in a pocket. The review gives its weight as 101 g, compared with 252 g for the reviewer’s GameSir G8 Galileo; that is a weight comparison, not a full head-to-head test. Those figures make portability the Prio’s strongest practical selling point. Exact folded dimensions were not published, so wallet-size is a comparison rather than a measurement.
How do its controls feel in games?
Sutrich found the compact thumbsticks more capable than their size might suggest. In his hands-on use, they worked well in Fortnite and in The Witcher 3 Remastered streamed through GeForce Now. He also liked the D-pad’s distinct directional inputs, quiet face buttons, and analog triggers. These are one reviewer’s impressions, not results from a standardized performance test.

Comfort will depend partly on hand size. The reviewer, who described his hands as moderate-sized, found the controller comfortable; he expected that people with large hands might find it less so. If you can, try the grip before relying on it for long sessions.
Does it fit a phone with a case?
The Prio secures a phone with a rear rubber-band swivel and comes with three differently shaped and sized sets of rubber pads to help adapt the fit. Sutrich reported that his Pixel 10 Pro in a thick Dbrand Tank case fitted after he removed the pads. That example shows one workable combination, not a guarantee for other cases or phones.

- Case thickness and shape: Fit depends on the phone and case together; a bulky case may require removing the included pads.
- Camera islands: The reviewer cautioned that particularly large camera bumps can interfere with positioning.
- Foldables: Book-style foldable phones do not fit while closed.
Check the phone’s width, connector position, camera bump, and case shape against the controller before buying. The review does not provide a comprehensive device-and-case compatibility list.

The available hands-on review documents Android testing, including a Nothing Phone 3 and Pixel 10 Pro. It does not establish official Prio support for any particular iPhone model. USB-C alone is not enough to confirm that a controller is supported by a given phone, so do not assume compatibility based on the connector. Verify the exact iPhone model with Razer or the seller before purchase.

Razer’s Kishi V3 compatibility page is for a different, full-sized controller. It lists support for iPhone 15, 16, and 17 series and describes USB-C pass-through charging; those specifications do not apply to the Prio. The original iPhone Kishi was a separate Lightning-connected, MFi-certified product announced in 2020, with a historical support list beginning at iPhone 6 Plus and a launch MSRP of $99.99 USD or 109.99€. Razer’s 2020 announcement concerns that older model, not Prio support. Macworld’s 2025 model overview distinguishes the discontinued original Lightning Kishi from the V2 Lightning and V2 USB-C versions. See Macworld’s Kishi model overview.
How does it connect, and what about charging?
The Prio connects over USB-C. Sutrich reported that it needs no separate charging or pairing: plug it into the phone and play. Its notable trade-off is the lack of pass-through charging. The phone cannot be charged through the controller while you play, so start with enough battery or plan to pause and connect a charger directly.

The review says Razer Nexus can launch games and support PC streaming through Razer software. Customization was not enabled on the reviewer’s pre-release unit, so the review does not establish how that feature performs.

Should you buy the Razer Prio?
The Prio is most compelling for someone who values a controller that can disappear into a pocket and is comfortable with its compact grip. Its low reported weight, foldable design, and positive control impressions are meaningful advantages for portable play. The main buying checks are whether your exact phone and case fit, whether the compact ergonomics suit your hands, and whether you can live without charging the phone through the controller.
